Fav character: Brutus Howell “Brutal”, our gentle giant who can be tough when it’s needed. He has a level head on his shoulders with a strong moral compass in his heart. Least fav character: Percy obvs. Pointless cruelty from an insecure dweeb hiding behind his connections is never cool. No one likes a bully.
Rating: 7.1 An original story idea from the great mind of our Horror King, even if it was a thinker instead of a horror this go around, but I found it to be a little bit of a slower burn for my taste. I felt this could have been fit into one of his Nightmare and Dreamscapes short stories but King fell in love with the characters too much and wanted to try the story installment style so we got this longer version.
Fav - mr. Jingles for cuteness, but In seriousness PaulLeast fave - Wharton
Rating - 6 it was decent but wasn’t really captivated by the writing and expected much more. Also not a clear takeaway or intent for me
Favorite Character: Janice - Basically Paul's morals compass. Every good thing that Paul does in the story is a choice influenced and her feeling so strong when they announce that John is going to be officially taken to "ol smokey".
Least Favorite: Percy - Complete asshole and cruel man. Even though the people he is supposed to take care of are convicted criminals of horrible crimes, he does not need to be so harsh to the inmates who he knows he can easily pick on and scare. Whiny boy pissy pants.
Rating - 7/10 - Although its slow in the first two sections of the book, it gets interesting enough to warrant existing. Not what I expected going into my first Stephen King book and makes me question his greatness and legacy as a prolific writer. The mouse was kinda funny though.

Favorite Character: Brutus. Same reason as Alicia. He wasn’t THE big boy but he WAS as a big boy.Least Favorite Character: Wharton. I thought he was scary and I got icky feelings every time he showed up on a page! A truly evil person all around.
Rating: 7.6 - the book kept my interest but didn’t live up to my expectations.

Creating this thread for our tenth overall book but our second book of round 3.
