How important do you think the setting of Puerto Rico is to this novel? Would it be a totally different story set somewhere else? And have you been to Puerto Rico??

Tabby Shiflett | 16 comments So important that it's like a character unto itself

Christine (cj-mo) | 49 comments I've never been to Puerto Rico, but I liked it as the setting for this book and definitely added to the story.

Julie Golin | 1 comments The culture and history of Puerto Rico is a major part of the storyline. I have never been to Puerto Rico, but was instantly transported there as I read Familia!
