Sage was pretty much alone, without family since her father was in the final stages of Alzheimer's. It was pretty unfair of him to allow Sage to believe Lucy had something to do with Lydia's death. I think Lucy did the right thing.
I had no idea Lucy was Micronesian. That came as a shock as I had a completely different image of her (think Glenn Close as Cruella DeVille without the evil smile). I also liked learning why she left the CIA.

I have Maggie Q from Nikita in my head when thinking of Lucy:
I enjoyed these background elements more than the actual plot. I was invested in lucy and Sage working out their differences right from the beginning, and couldn't really understand why Lucy brushed her off in the beginning.
Me too! The reason for Sage and Lucy's estrangement and what really happened to cause it were worth reading the whole book for. What surprised me was Lucy's reason for leaving the CIA and that Sage's father was a high ranking CIA official and she didn't know it. Lucy absolutely did to right thing in outing Sage's father.
