I've been waiting for about 5 years now for GRRM's Winds of Winter and even more for Pat Rothfuss's Doors of Stone and it's frustrating xd. Brandon writes like a maniac which is why I love him as a writer, he's always got something cooking.

I’m so ready for the 5th book!! I read Way of Kings for the first time in 2013, so it’s crazy to think it’s been over 10 years of waiting lol
Like you guys said, Brandon writes soooo much so it definitely tides you over while you are waiting for the next books.
I’m not sure if anyone is familiar with Robert Jordan and his Wheel of Time series, but I’m really hoping Brandon doesn’t pull a similar move and pass away before completing Stormlight Archive 🙏 especially since I’ve heard there is supposed to be a longer break between the 5th and 6th books, so who knows when we’ll get a completed series.

I hope lol

Since I gave up on GRRM(The guy's 76) and he didn't release Winds of Winter in 12 years roughly and counting. my only hope for a completed fantasy series is Sanderson☺

I was wondering if anyone has any theories about Stormlight 5? I’m rereading the entirety of SA currently, so I’m sure I’ll develop more as I go, especially reading the secret projects.
STORMLIGHT SPOILERS
I’m most interested in seeing Kal’s development and also discovering who the “champion” will be, I have some theories but am interested in seeing what you guys think!

My husband is trying to convince me to wait till book 5 comes out before I read the others, says I should savour the experience and stretch it out so I don’t burn out from all the reading… but that’s too far away haha and once you find a good author you just want to binge everything they have!

Unbelievable. How can he say something like that😠 (insert angry Stormlight fanatic noises)
Jokes aside xd. Go ahead and start reading them. they're huge so they'll fill your reading time until SA5 comes out pretty nicely.
And you don't need to just read Stormlight, you can read other Cosmere works in between these massive tomes!
I still recommend going on this link to get a beautiful reading order that will optimize your reading journey in the Cosmere for maximum satisfaction!

Well I don't really have much in the way of theories, (I like stating the facts and wondering more than theorizing) so here's what we know.
Taravangian is a massive massive problem as Odium, and he's planning something bad.
Dalinar is Honor's champion for now, but that could still change as nothing was already set, I still have a feeling that it will be Kaladin after all.
We know that Wit is doing something, he faced Odium and weird stuff happened at the end of RoW. We don't know if he was the one who tricked Odium or if Odium tricked him. But that confrontation will surely have it's consequences.
We know that the dawnshards will come into play, as two of them now are known to reside on Roshar(the one with Wit and the one with Rysn), and with what learned about in the Sunlit Man, Sigzil and Wit will be major players in this particular battle.
Now on Odium's champion, I have no idea who could it be!
One of the singers? I doubt that greatly. Moash? I doubt that too.
I have this sinister feeling that the champion will be a character that we know and probably love. Who will be the worst possible matchup to any champion of Honor? Someone innocent, or someone they love. And this is something I could absolutely see Taravangian planning.
These are some of my thoughts, and I'd like to hear yours as well.
I just thought about the discussions we'll have when that book comes out. My God they will be crazy xd.
SA SPOILERS
Marwan,
I definitely agree that Odium’s champion will probably be some character that we currently love and that is on our side as of now!
I was thinking, does the clause that Odium cannot harm anyone from Taravangian’s kingdom still stand now that he himself is Odium? Is that how works, or have I misunderstood? If I were Dalinar, I would appoint Taravangian’s granddaughter as the Champion, because, even with his new found power, I can’t see him harming her in any way. (I could be wrong, or forgetting something important though)

I like your thoughts, but I think you're underestimating Taravangian's ruthlessness. That guy would murder a school of children if he thought it was for the greater good.
And I think you're also underestimating Dalinar's honor. I could never see the Dalinar we know put someone innocent in harm's way.
Odium though? He would totally manipulate someone innocent into playing his champion, presenting Dalinar or whoever is fighting as Honor's champion with an unexpected moral battle. Kill this innocent person and save the world, or let them live and withstand the consequences.
To understand my example imagine that Honor's champ is Kaladin and Odium's is Kal's mother or little brother or something equally horrifying.
Now the Knights Radiant are all about the journey before the destination, so they(Kal, or Dalinar) would choose saving the innocent's life, giving Odium victory, and the service of Dalinar.
Dalinar becomes Odium's general and starts a war with the Cosmere(We see signs of this in the Sunlit Man) in a type of the Emperor/Darth Vader dynamic.
This is my prediction for book 5. I know it's grim but I don't see a way they can outhink this Mega Odium.
Whoooaaa Dalinar becoming odiums general in the Cosmere war is something I haven’t thought of but can totally see being a possibility… I can’t underestimate Sanderson by thinking he’ll have one obviously good side and one obviously bad… I’m sure there’ll be characters we love on both sides of this war! Brandon is definitely not gonna make it easy on us…

My top is The Way of Kings. I think it was the most exciting plot wise. A lot of action and twists in the plot.
Then Oathbringer because of Dalinar
Words of Radiance and Rhythm of War are tied for me. They both slowed down in pace and excitement.
I wasn’t a huge fan of Shallan and her (in my mind) complaining and avoiding of her past.
I wasn’t a fan of Kaladins seemingly same backsliding.
And the turn Sanderson took with the parshmen/listeners/fused was underwhelming… I thought the conflict would increase but it didn’t.
I just felt like they both dragged on a bit.
By the end there was a lot of set up for the next book which I’m excited for. Plus all the cosmere connections are super exciting!

Oh man, ranking the books is so difficult!! Honestly, every single time I reread a book it becomes my favourite. Becuase of this, my most recent reread was ROW, so right now that is my favourite, and the others are all tied for second Ha!
My first read through of this series I also wasn’t a huge fan of Shallan, but honestly my second time around changed my mind. I think people often forget how young she is, and how much trauma she went through. Truly, for being as young and for going through as much as she did, she handles it remarkably well, better than I would have at that age thats for sure. I feel like people often don’t give her enough credit and I have a huge soft spot for her! She’s entitled to be a little annoying imo, she’s still just a kid.
