I have been reading this book (very slowly) for a while and have reached Chapter 14.
I have to say the book got interesting only around the last 2-3 chapters back.

I was struggling through the first bits but that always happens when I start a MZ book. Now that they have become friendlier, I am loving the chemistry. It must be so cute to have him wrap her under his hoodie to give the warmth.

I reached chapter 25 and it has become very cute!

(view spoiler)[ I was so mad at Alex when he ignored Gracie but the way he comforted her was so sweet. I also liked his bonding with his siblings..

And did he call her his girlfriend when he gave the soft toy to the kid! I was squealing.. I also like how he has assumed her responsibility for entirety.. I want to see how their romance blossoms further..

I finished and I loved this as well. I did not give it 5 stars (with a heavy heart) as MZ has raised her standards a lot for me. Though this was an amazing read, I think it took around 10 chapters to come to that level. The first few ones were a bit hard to get into. But I still loved the book, I loved the characters (view spoiler)[ I think the Defender was soooo sweet, and even his family was great! But when I compare it to books like ACOMAF (with the mating and romance fantasy element), it just fell a itsy mitsy bit short for me. Also today, I had a bad headache while completing it so my mood might have influenced this haha. Some moments were just gorgeous in the book. (hide spoiler)]

I really had a terrible week and did not manage to make it farther than chapter 3 yet but will continue to read today!

FINALLY I can check in.
I had to get the audiobook because I just couldn't bring myself to read with my eyes lol (not because of the book itself, just in general)

I'm currently in chapter 20.

(view spoiler)[And of course I love this book. So far, it's looking like a 5 star read to me but will see once I got to the end. I am so excited for them to get together (as always) and I just love how grumpy Alexander is. I also find it refreshing that there is a supernatural aspect in this book. I totally forgot about that and then I started reading and was surprised by it haha.

I agree with the cuteness :) I was hooked from the beginning but I feel like that's mostly because MZ never disappointed me before so I just know what to expect maybe.

This was a 5 star read for me again, I really loved the book. I will say more and read your other spoilers later when I'm at work :)

I was also very mad (view spoiler)[at Alex, especially because I really didn't understand what was going on. I thought I missed them having a fight. But when he explained later why he was gone for so long and not talking to her, I was happy again.
I really understand the squealing. I was in bed when I listened to the last 1.5 hours of the audiobook and I was grinning into my pillow and kicking my feet haha (hide spoiler)]

I didn't read (view spoiler)[any SJM book yet (shame on me but you know, so many books, such little time) so I don't have any comparison there. I think this was my first superhero book ever and I had my doubts about it in the beginning but I genuinely loved it.
I just keep falling in love with MZs male MCs haha
The only thing I didn't like soooo much was that the epilogue was like 2 seconds long. Otherwise it was again very beautiful and will probably end up being one of my top books of the year (I guess haha) (hide spoiler)]

So glad you loved it! To be honest, I loved it tooooo and loveee her male MCs.. I think I had chosen this one, so you choose? I am pretty open to reading anytime after 25th Feb (my husband will be here plus toppler)
