Chad Hey, folks! Honored to be here and that you'd take the time to read my new book. It looks like Cemetery Dance put up a pre-order link for the Kindle on Amazon, and both PB and Kindle will be out this Friday. Happy reading, and talk soon!

Kimberly (kimberly_3238) | 7707 comments Mod

Chad A bit of trivia for readers now that the book is out. The working title was called THE MELDING, but I didn't want the focus on the body horror...or any horror at all, which is actually secondary to the relationships, empathy, and having a caring tribe in your corner during the rough times.

Got my copy, I always hear how you're such a master of writing human emotions and relationships Chad, so excited to dive into your newest creation.

Rachel from Shades of Orange on YT gave a phenomenal review for your Stirring the Sheets novel, so that will be my next read after this :)

So I started--and finished--in one sitting. I FEEL. No spoilers, but this novella will stay with you. (Review to come after I process it).
WOW.

Badseedgirl | 1033 comments I also finished the story in basically one setting. I am processing my thoughts before I review, but a couple observations about me, not the book. This story made me feel feelings, and I watch WAY to many movies. This was an excellent, heart-rending story.

Seb | 157 comments The third Chad Lutzke I read. Third punch in the gut.

Chad Lutzke moves me. Every single time.

If you hesitate to read it, just don't!

Uff, I'd send John Wick after Taylor's dad... you know the story and writing is amazing when you get so pissed off and upset at a character!

And I don't mean this John Wick,

but this one.

Char | 17508 comments Chad, did you have friends like these when you were growing up and then base your characters on them?

Chad Char wrote: "Chad, did you have friends like these when you were growing up and then base your characters on them?"

Nope. I didn't really base them on anyone...unless it was done on a subconscious level. But I did have friends who I built countless forts with over the years, and I did live near cornfields. Some of our forts were in the trees, some on the ground, some IN the ground. It was a favorite pastime at a certain age.

Harpreet (theshark97) | 5 comments I read it in one sitting, and I just had to sit in silence for a bit. This was my first body horror book, and I'm so happy it was. I never thought I'd be a body horror fan. BUT THIS!? The horror of how he was quickly melting into a cocoon hurt so much more reading about their friendship and fears.
I know the feeling of an unsafe house, knowing the person living there can/will hurt you. SO EFF THE DAD! I hope he rots in the hell! I hope the kid can finally feel the freedom he didn't have as a human. It really was his best story yet.
Chad, you're a genius, and I will read all your stories.

Yolanda Stevenson | 22 comments Wow! This is the my first time reading your work, but it won't be the last. I read this in two hours! Your writing has a beauty to it, even with the horrible circumstances. This story brought me back to that kind of pre-teen friendships and loyalty that can sometimes get lost in the trappings of adulthood. Thank you for this story, it wrecked me...in a good way.

Pisces51 I read the work by Chad and I was moved to tears, all choked up. Narrative is tight and length short but Lutze manages to etch out the personalities and strengths of these young boys. Talented and effective storyline??? Oh, yeah!!

Just finished a minute ago... packs a punch, what a story!

I feel like it put my heart into a blender then made me drink it as I got closer to the end. Such a unique and evocative novella. So glad I got to read it!
