SciFi and Fantasy Book Club discussion

For me it was the departure of Frodo Baggins at the end of the trilogy.

dang man, right for the deep spoilers!

(view spoiler)[the death of Grass (hide spoiler)] in the short story that formed the basis of Dreamsnake (ditto) Of Mist, and Grass, and Sand.

The climactic scene near the end of The Farthest Shore when Arren (view spoiler)[arrives back on Roke and stumbles off the back of the old dragon and faces the shocked wizards. He is tired and dirty, no longer the beautiful golden boy who set out on the quest with Sparrowhawk. He has been to the farthest shore, to the very ends of the earth, and now he is a man, a hero, and a king. The quest is completed, the ancient prophecy fulfilled. (hide spoiler)] Truly a beautiful and emotional moment.
