The Great War (World War I) discussion

I have been reading WW2 history since high school, but The Great War has always been prevalent in the back of my mind. Erik Larson is one of my favorite authors and after I had read several of his books I came across this one. This sparked a long suppressed interest in WW1. I highly recommend that if you’re joining this group this is a great place to start. Some of these types of books can drag on and be hard to follow, this one is the opposite. Please share any questions, comments, or suggestions here in the discussion. I look forward to hearing from you all soon!

I'm from Belgium so I am privileged to have visited a lot of WWI related places. I've been interested in it since I was a small child and even though I've already seen a lot (musea, cemeteries, sites, monuments...) there's so much reading I still want to do to understand everything even better.

I'm fairly new to Goodreads groups so I'm not entirely sure how they usually work, but I'm excited to see how this will unfold!

I'm currently reading "forgotten voices of the Great War" by Max Arthur. It's impressive to read firsthand experiences of German, British and French people who lived through the war.

Hi everyone! I’m new to Goodreads groups but excited to get started. I’m located in Central Florida and have been a history nerd for as long as I can remember. I’ve worked in cybersecurity for the past 10+ years but recently enrolled to pursue my bachelors in history (and hopefully higher) to go towards my passion.

I’m recently finished Dual of Eagle by Peter Townsend which covered some bits of aviation during The Great War but mainly focused on the Battle of Britain in World War II.

I’m open to any suggestions on books to read and discuss!
