What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I read this when I was around middle school age (10-14 possible ages, so 2011-2015)

I remember the main character was a young girl around my age at the time who lived in relative poverty sometime around the industrial revolution or the turn of the century. She either had, found, or made a bike, where she went on some adventure involving the railroad.

I also remember there being a door-to-door salesman involved who was evil somehow. I think he tried to sell her a potion or he stole her bike.

I really don't remember anything else about this book, but I remembered that I absolutely loved it, and I have been trying to find it for years. Thanks in advance if anyone can help figure this out!
