I am at least 95% of the time unable to follow clues in these stories; I might "go with my gut" from time to time, but it's the story as a whole that keeps my interest most of the time.
It normally bothers me, but, as I mentioned earlier, I was into the personal relationships. I do feel cheated when an author doesn't have clues even when I miss them.
Like Sharon, I was more invested in the character development and personal stories. It could just be that Force isn't that skilled at writing police procedurals, but these aspects of the series are not very good. Moreover, Sam isn't really much of an investigator.
I thought it was a rather hasty wrap to the mystery. Force was more focused on the personal relationships and didn't give us mystery fans much to work with this time.Skip hearing the clues they had and solving it was a great interesting way to wrap it up.
