The Sword and Laser discussion

I moved straight on into the second book and just figured that I'd report that it's more of the same, but even more so. There is more blood and gore - including one fight that is so ridiculous it leans over into body horror territory. There is more of people journeying around all over the place, even sometimes away from where it seems like they'll ultimately need to go. Every person's description includes the weapons they are carrying. There are more thought-cages. It's basically the first book turned up to 11. The third book is due out later this year.

Yeah, I'm feeling about the same way Dazerla. Apparently, the third book is already in the can and will be out later this year - but I do wish I could just have rushed straight into it.
