Sounds like the narrator is telling (his spouse) to come fetch him when it's dinner time. He'll be in the garden doing his chores, sweeping up the soft apple tree petals, smooth beans, and wrinkled peas.

But beware you don't forget why you came to get me, and you get sidetracked like I do, in the garden, enjoying the sights, and like I have become: a slave to the process of springtime.

Planting time and the new birth -- putting in the seed -- is pure love!
