Spring traditionally symbolizes rebirth, a new beginning, starting over....

Read a book that is an re-imagining or retelling of a classic, fairytale, or myth.
Required: If re-imagining or retelling is not evident on the main Goodreads page, provide a reference to support the fit.

Emily | 782 comments Would you consider Into the Forest: Tales of the Baba Yaga to be a retelling/reimagining? It's short stories inspired by the tales of Baba Yaga.

Please note retellings and Beauty and the Beast MPGs (I had no idea Beauty and the Beast could be a MPG!)

Trish (trishhartuk) | 3752 comments Just checking, is "Retellings" as an MPG enough for this task?

I'm thinking Thornhedge, which has elements of other fairytales, so is probably a reimagining.

Thanks.

it does need to be retelling of a specific fairytale or classic or myth. so just having the mpg may not work. this one looks like its just a retelling play off of generic fairytales.

if it is a specific fairytale then you can add a reference and it would work.

Trish (trishhartuk) | 3752 comments Okay. Thanks. Sounds like it would be safer to leave it for now and find an alternative.

Trish (trishhartuk) | 3752 comments How's this for option two? Scarlet, by Genevieve Cogman.

It describes itself as "A thrilling reinvention of the tale of The Scarlet Pimpernel with the addition of magic and even more mayhem."
