I read The Shadow of the Wind and loved it. I've heard this second book is darker, but I'm excited to read it anyhow. I love how Carlos Ruiz Zafón writes.

I loved both of these books! Visiting Spain has moved to the top of my bucket list after reading these.
One more comment...I think this second book was not written as "poetically" as the first. I loved Zafon's use of language in the first book. The Angel's Game had a more masculine voice. Details are not abundant except for descriptions of the architecture, which I tend to skim. I'd like to know more about the architecture of Barcelona, but since I don't, I skim the text and don't get bogged down in researching what the buildings would've looked like.
