Grave witch Alex Craft can speak to the dead, but that doesn’t mean she likes what they have to say.

As a private investigator and consultant for the police, Alex Craft has seen a lot of dark magic. But even though she’s on good terms with Death himself—who happens to look fantastic in a pair of jeans—nothing has prepared her for her latest case. Alex is investigating a high profile murder when she’s attacked by the ‘shade’ she’s raising, which should be impossible. To top off her day, someone makes a serious attempt on her life, but Death saves her. Guess he likes having her around...

To solve this case Alex will have to team up with tough homicide detective Falin Andrews. Falin seems to be hiding something—though it’s certainly not his dislike of Alex—but Alex knows she needs his help to navigate the tangled webs of mortal and paranormal politics, and to track down a killer wielding a magic so malevolent, it may cost Alex her life...and her soul.

Her dad was Fae… Death is in love with her and Phalen is the Fae Queens lover??? Why in the hell did he sleep with her then? This book made zero sense. (hide spoiler)]

76% (view spoiler)[For whatever reason I’m just not really feeling this book right now. It’s hard to focus on the audiobook and pay attention to what’s going on. Plus I just don’t seem to care about the main character. Hopefully something big will happen at the end that’ll make this worth reading. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 1-8 (view spoiler)[ I’m actually really liking this one. Might be my favorite so far. But also it’s interesting how the guy had no idea that he jumped off the building. Something was definitely going on, maybe he was possessed. (hide spoiler)]

Finished (view spoiler)[Well I’m glad that they got to her before sunset and was able to get her back to fairy so she didn’t die. The whole corpse just eating ghost thing was a little creepy. Also I’m sad about Alex and Death’s relationship ending. I really liked those two together. (hide spoiler)]

Chapters 7-12 (view spoiler)[ The summer king is definitely tricky! And now he’s put a curse on her so she can’t talk about him wanting to break the bong with his queen.
