Hello there, can I buddy read with you guys? I started reading powerless awhile back but stopped with the first 3 chapters or something. I'd like to pick it up again. Haven't read Ruthless Vows either :)

What about every other day for 4 chapters? since it alternates between two characters. if not we can come up with something else

English was my first language but I haven't read anything that hasn't made sense or anything for the both of you! But if you'd like if I see anything wrong I can tell you.

Im on chapter 6 page 44 currently and honestly I'm not sure myself but I'm pretty sure we do discuss the book after were done reading.

How about we read till page 44 by tomorrow or Saturday (if you're okay with that @Mehjuba), discuss what we read and then officially begin this buddy read? And from what I saw here and there, people agree to read a certain amount of pages or chapters in a selected time, discuss what they just read and then repeat it until the end of the book

Have you guys read the Daevabad Trilogy and Red Queen? so my initial thoughts were how the characters in powerless have a resemblance to the characters in both red queen and daevabad..not the way they look but how they are as people. As for the world building I dont think theres much going on other than the fact that theres a clear division bw the ordinary people and the elite guys but I like how its not too complicated either.

I already like Kai xD. The author had me at black hair and grey eyes! I think I picked this up coz the synopsis gave me hunger games vibes within a magical setting! Curious to see how its gonna turn out 0_0

I didn't read either trilogies but I heard about them and the synopses seem quite similar. And same! I love a black-haired ML, plus he's cocky and OP x) I agree with you about the worldbuilding: it is quite simple and basic for the moment but I still enjoy it. I love the idea of a sort of magical-mortal-tournament taking place and I can't wait to get to this part and see how Paedyn will fare. The only thing that bothered me was the meeting of the two protagonists, that I found really quick and insta-lust-y.

I haven't read the red queen nor Daevabad trilogies but if i like this book ill def check out those! but kai might be a new book boyfriend heh lol, but so fair im liking both characters! cant wait to see how this torment thing will happen aswell.

also what chapter are we reading to now? chapter 8 or chapter 10?

And I do agree on meeting part. A bit cliché but I still think its written well. Lol I guess having a dagger at each others throat on their first meeting would've been more cliché I guess xD. And Paedyn will definitelt end up having some power or the other. Its just lying dormant for now is what I feel.

Daevabad Trilogy is a must read!! It has amazing worldbuilding! And the character profiling is soo good!! And the character development in the series is one of the best I've ever seen. Its arabian fantasy and Im a sucker for those :0

I already had the first book of Daevabad on my TBR but I'll definitely buy it when I have the occasion. Thanks for the recommendation! :D

And I do like both characters as well, Paedyn seems like a badass and I'm a sucker for this type of FL so I'm eager to see how she'll develop. I also agree about the fact that their meeting is well written, as I live for sarcasm.
