Ito ay ang THE EARLY BIRD CATCHES THE WORM BUT THE SECOND MOUSE GETS THE CHEESE ni Francis J. Kong!

Plano Para Sa Pagbabasa
Appetizer
Week1: If You Love Something -- Hearing Voices
Week2: Getting Older Lines -- Went Up In Smoke
part one
part two
Week3: The Hobby -- The Murder Of Grabwell Grommet
Week4: It's Not Everything -- Making The Kids Visit
Week5: It's Not My Fault -- Relics Of The Past

The early bird gets the worm, but has it ever occured to you that the early bird worm gets eaten. In line with this thinking, being the first may not necessarily be good, because the first mouse gets trapped, but the second one gets the cheese.

What I'm trying to say is that life is a matter of perspective.

It's not what happens to you; it's how you look at it and how you take it.

We can whine, groan and moan, or we can take the time to learn, love and laugh.

The choice is ours to make.

Exciting diba? Kaya sali na, mga kakweba! :D

BOOK COPIES

Bakit?
- The Early Bird
- The Early Worm
- The First Mouse
- The Second Mouse

(view spoiler)

O siya, mauuna na ako! : ))

Ingrid (gridni) | 157 comments Second Mouse
(view spoiler)

Maganda yung di masyadong pinag-iisipan, nag-aappeal nalang sayo bigla hehe.

On a more serious note, maybe because I tend to follow and learn from example, and thus makes me less of a risk taker (and unfortunately, di ako ang mauuna sa opportunities). But I'll get one eventually, I guess. Hindi naman ako nagmamadali. :)

message 6: by Phoebe (new)

Phoebe A (phoibee) | 1423 comments Wala bang second bird? haha joke lang. I enjoy things at my own pace. Reality check ba. All puns intended hahaha.

Billy Candelaria (azriel) | 293 comments Sa aking yung second mouse.

(view spoiler)

Sali na at magbasa! :)

Early Bird - mahilig akong dumating on time.

IF YOU LOVE SOMETHING

Take care of it. If it wants to leave, set it free. If it comes back, it comes back. The love doesn't end with leaving and coming back.

I am generally optimistic. I always hope (and work in my own way) that things will turn out right along the way, till the end. Example? Kaya ayon, ituloy kahit konti. Then unti-unti may mga bagong sumisipot at after the first event, mukhang nag-enjoy naman: dumating si Jas na kasama ni Billy sa Lumbay, dumating si Jayson Fajardo sa Janus, then nag-Para Kay B. Dumagsa na ulit ang mga miyembro.

OREO PERSONALITY TEST

Yes, be open to accept criticism. But also try to be careful in choosing who to get it from. Words are powerful. They can make or break you.

Na-bless ako talaga sa pagkakaroon ng happy families - where I came from and my own. Sa PRPB family (Jzhun, para sa yo ito haha sa yong kamatayang "It's not just a bookclub, it's a family!") sobrang nakaka-enjoy kaya every month, looking forward talaga ako sa events natin haha!

One bite at a time.

#2 - One bite at a time siguro...I lack imagination daw pero don't worry, I'm normal.

Yong walang imagination? Hindi naman siguro. Kasi reader ako. Mahirap magbasa kung di ka nagi-imagine. Hahaha!

Yon kasing mga personality tests, kinakahon ka. May central tendencies, oo. Haha

Honeypie (honeypiegb) | 219 comments KD: Salamat sa pagsagot! : )) (view spoiler)

The love doesn't end with leaving and coming back.

try to be careful in choosing who to get it from. Words are powerful. They can make or break you.

If You Love Something

1. Kung gusto umalis ng minamahal ko, I will let him go. I don't like holding on to someone who doesn't want to be held. : ))

Kung something naman, like passion ganun, I wouldn't let it go especially when I believe in its goodness. Kung alam kong wala naman akong naaapakang tao, and if this is for Him and the greater good, why should I let go of it?

2. I'm an optimist! Haha! Ewan ko, I just love hope e. (And hope is a positive thing!) It gives me comfort and courage. Because I think that if I feel negative all the time, I wouldn't be taking risks and "living my life". :)

Honeypie (honeypiegb) | 219 comments Oreo Personality Test

1. Kind of. How I relate with other people is who I am, but at the same time, they don't always see what's IN me. So in a way, they just see a part of my personality, that which I share with them. Hehe!

2. Sa family. Sakto lang. Haha! Di kami super close, like tell everything close, but close enough. : )) I guess it depends on how "close" you are to the person to be able to perceive who they really are.

3. I eat Oreos by twisting it apart, then the inside then the cookie. Haha! It says that I have a highly curious nature, and I take pleasure in breaking things apart to find out how they work. Totoo to, dahil mahilig ko buksan yung mga bagay-bagay how they work. For example, yung parang barcode/tag thingy sa books kapag binibili mo. Binuksan ko pa sya and all, para makita tong metal na to. Haha! You are a compulsive liar and exhibit deviant, if not crimial behavior. #guilty hahaha!

4. There's this personality test that I took. It's the mountain test. Though this is how I remembered answering it:
a. You see a mountain, what do you tell it? I told it, "Aakyatin kita!
b. Assuming you've climbed it, and went back down again. What do you say to it? Initially, I thought of saying, 'Yun na yun!?'; but instead I said, 'Thank you.'
(view spoiler)

5. No. The results of personality tests are amusing at times, because they seem so spot-on. But I know who I am best; I don't need personality test results telling me how I should live my life. :)

Honeypie (honeypiegb) | 219 comments Fixing It Myself

1. Sobrang dami na, wala na akong maalalang example. Haha! I'm curious, but sometimes I prefer to do things on my own, if I think I can do it. Minsan success, minsan palpak!

2. Hmmm.. I'll share the most recent I can think of. (view spoiler)

3. I think I need fixing in being content. Woohoo, ang hirap kasi talaga when you want something, and other people are doing it or have it, and you don't. Diba ang hirap?? Hahaha! It's an ongoing process, so ewan ko. (view spoiler) Kanina nasa NBS ako, and I came across this one from another FJK book, "Be content with what you have, but never be contented with what you are." Yown! (view spoiler)

2. My beliefs define me! Haha! Well, in a way, who I believe in entails who I want to please, and this is turn results to how I will live my life that is pleasing to Him. :D

Ipapareserve nalang nya at gagawa ng note for the guard in-charge kasi sabado yun. We'll have meeting on wednesday to discuss about it pa.

Anyway, do you need projector? or anything you may want to request para kung available dito masabi ko nalang din agad.

2. How do you usually look at most situations? i.e. are you pessimistic, optimistic, suspicious, patient, impatient, playful, obsessive, etc.? Cite one situation to justify yourself. :P
1. Set them free, I’d rather see that person grow and be friends after. If things won’t work out for us then atleast I can say that I set her free.
2. If for myself I’m pessimistic, if for others I’m a great motivator and optimistic for them. Like when my friend is in doubt of something like a life decision or work stuff I can give him or her 100 things that would help him go for it but when I’m the one doing it I have 1000 more things in my list to actually not go for that thing. 1. Do you agree with the earlier statement?
2. How well do you know the people you are living with? Do you think that how you perceive them is who they really are?
3. How do you eat your oreos? Do you agree with the results of the test? Why or why not?
4. Have you ever taken another personality test (aside from this oreo test)? Please share the details and results. Did you agree with the results?
5. Have you ever made decisions in your life based on the results of a personality test?

1. No, I’m a totally different person when I’m outside. To my friends I’m the silent, go to guy who is so willing to extend his help. To my family I’m the artistic guy who is always inside his room either reading books, playing online games, sketching or sleeping. Who would eat in his room while doing stuff (focused) LOL.
2. I guess I know them but still I don’t know everything about them. Each and every one in our house has their own personal space. All things you don’t want to share shouldn’t be in the living room for everyone to scrutinize. (More on respect)
3. I don’t eat oreo that much, too sweet! No, people change what you are now will be way too different after two to three years.
4. Yes, I can’t remember but yes they get some of the bits and pieces and if you don’t like what is in it you can basically change or try to change it.
5. No, I consider a lot of things. Family> Money> Happiness, so yeah my first priority is my family.

if you don’t like what is in it you can basically change or try to change it

-- AMEN!!!

Family> Money> Happiness

-- Money before happiness? :D it is about my own happiness sample if it is a work related thing: even if it is stressful since i need money for my family i'd stay and put my own happiness (aside) LOL

FIXING IT MYSELF:
---> If I want my family to change, it first has to start with me.
If I want my family to change, it is a group process (EVERYONE should change willingly)

-- But someone has to start right? :) [#EpalComment Haha! (hide spoiler)]

If that someone starts and most of his or her family members were like "wala lang". Eventually you'll end up joining the band wagon LOL if you can't beat them join them LOL hahaha

Easier said than done, of course. That's why only the "strong" and "committed" ones succeed at this aspect. Hahaha! (view spoiler)

FIXING IT MYSELF

1. Have you ever tried to fix something yourself, but ended up doing worse? Share the details. :)

2. Share an instance when you surrendered yourself to a situation or a person. How did it turn out?

Okay lang. Madalas kong ginagawa ito. Do your best and leave the rest to God.

3. Is there something in yourself that you think needs fixing? Please feel free to share, if it's okay. :)

My weight haha! Sana mag-lost pa ang weight ko haha.

Quotable Quotes:
---> Defective beings cannot fix defective systems.

May pagkanega ito.

---> If I want my family to change, it first has to start with me.

Oo. Kahit sa office, applicable ito. You can be a good teamplayer if you are good yourself. Parang ganoon.

---> I have surrendered myself to the idea that only God can fix me. Nothing is too difficult for Him. Let Him do the fixing; He never fails. :)

Oo we are God's creations.

-- Paanong negative? :p

I think it makes sense. Kasi you can't fix something when you yourself are broken. :)

Hahaha! (no comment, sometimes no comment is still a comment) :p You are one passionate and pushy girl :p hahaha

Poetry (poetryjunkies) | 31 comments V. HEARING VOICES
*** They need to hear voices because they are afraid of the silence.
[
1. Do you believe in superstitions, fortune-tellers, horoscopes, feng shui, etc.?
Yes - What are some of these that you believe in? Any personal experiences that drove you to believe in them?
No - Why not?

No, more on coincidence, finding something to believe in or making up a cool story that good things happen to you for a reason and you start back tracking the things you did before and after a bad or good luck happened.

2. How do your "beliefs" influence the way you live your life, the way you make decisions?

Moral Beliefs, it should be fair and just (or the lesser evil)

VI. GETTING OLDER LINES
*** I've met old folks who would inspire me with their words and actions. And I've met old folks who would do nothing but give old tales of their woes and misfortunes.
[
1. What are some of the advices/warnings that you got from old(er) people?

Be happy, spend money for yourself for once and just be happy. Travel, go out, celebrate and drink. (From my doctora friend who is like a second mom to me)

2. How do you see yourself as you get older? (eg, cranky? satisfied? dead? haha!)

Strict but reasonable. Happy and I can play online games with the younger generation LOL

3. What are some of the things that you are doing now that you know would impact your life "greatly" when you get older? (If you can't think of one, what do you think should you be doing? :)

Drinking too much coke! - LOL

Poetry (poetryjunkies) | 31 comments VII. RULES ON E-MAIL
*** The "Golden Rule" of E-Mail: That which thou findest hateful to receive, sendest thou not unto others.
[
1. What types of emails are you most likely to share with others?

None, office work most of the time.

2. Cite examples on how technology was an advantage and a disadvantage to you.
---> We simply have to remember that we're not supposed to bring office supplies home, and neither should we use office computers for our own personal emails. (hide spoiler)]

Advantage: Read yahoo news for I don't watch that much TV, youtube especially trending commercials and Musc Videos, Download TV Series, Scanned DC and Marvel Comics and Movies.
Disadvantage: I quit online games for it took a lot of my time, staying away from socializing with my friends, my books and sketching or writing. "So Kids play moderately!" LOL

VIII. RESIGNATION
*** I am hereby officially tendering my resignation as an adult.
[
1.Have you every thought of resigning from something you're doing? (It doesn't necessarily mean like a job or in school, but "life", in general. Haha!) What drove you to have this kind of feeling? Or if this hasn't crossed your mind, what do you think would drive you to resign from that life?

Life?! Never! Job yes! LOL You can't resign from life hahaha! For as long as you breath there is hope, you can be at the lowest of the low yet you can't quit, just keep on pushing no matter how hard life treats you. If you need to kick life do it, if you lose you legs then crawl and use your claws as you crawl your way up. If you lose your hands bite life with gusto until you get to where you wanna be... Just do it the right way and don't lose your way or what you believe in along the way. LOL (CUT! na direk)

2. What are some of things you resort to when you're feeling tired and burned out?

Definitely COKE! Para HAPPY!, chocolates, food trip, feel good music, nice books to read "Chicken Soup for the Soul", my bed and sleep. Sometimes ice cold beer would do...

3. If money was not an issue, would you rather live a "simple life" in the province, or the "hustle & bustle" of the city?

I'd live by the sea, having coffee or reading books... talking and conversing with someone about everything under the sun... (though I hate seawater, too salty for me)

4. Do you believe that "ignorance is bliss"?

Yes!, Ignorance would kill you too on the other hand, you wouldn't know that a snake bites unless someone told you before or you saw one dying from its venom. Then you'll be careful when dealing with snakes.

IX. THOSE SILLY MAGAZINE ADVICES
[
1. What are some of the "silliest" magazine/newspaper advices that you've read? Have you ever tried out if these advices work?

I don't read one (Sorry, hehe)

2. Times can be disappointing, depressing and annoying. Which do you think is easier to be during these times: a pessimist or an optimist? Why do you think the other choice is "harder"?

Both, you could be pessimistic at first. Overthinking stuff as you create a plan of attack. As you go along executing it, you deal with unaticipated bumps but then again you are halfway or so, so each bumps and road blocks you deal with optimism since you can't stop now will you?

X. WHY POLITICIANS MAKE THE BEST PATIENTS
*** Politicians are the easiest to operate on. There are no guts, no heart, and no spine, and the head and the bottom are interchangeable.
[
1. Share some funny politicians jokes or articles. Why do you think a lot of people find them funny?

Miriam Defensor's pick up lines, read her book stupid is forever LOL

2. Not all politicians are bad. There are good ones, I'm sure, but they seem to be the exception rather than the rule. Why? Please explain.

Simple if you can't beat them join them but some rather stay true and noble some will do small stuff or the lesser evil, less money, less land, less power trip but when it summed it less is more LOL!

3. What do you think should the nation do to turn around "this situation"? What do you think should you do?

Well there's Noah's Ark and the great flood, Sodom and Gomora for starters LOL a clean sweep is not feasible. I dunno what to do seriously.

Poetry (poetryjunkies) | 31 comments XI. THEY CAN'T MEASURE YOUR HEART
*** There is no way to determine or measure the size of your heart. There is no scientific method to figure out or apply a grading system on your desire.
[
1. Share one of your greatest desires. :)

I wanna live in the province with internet and books, food etc LOL

2. Name one person who has "sharpened" you. How did this person honed you to be a better person?

Outside my family, my manager from my previous company. He would call my attention for thye smallest errors on my reports, email and how I deal with my team. WOuld never compliment me for what I did something good, his simple way of teaching me little by little to be detailed oriented, a good leader and decision maker. He did tell me I'm good to go by the time he left the company BOO!

XII. YOU'RE NOT A MONK
[
1. What are some of the things that you are most curious about?

I have a fascination on how Serial killer thinks, forensic pathology and behavioural science (profiling)

2. Are you more of a listener or a talker?

Listener if I don't have a choice but I'm more of an observer.

3. What do you find yourself talking about to other people the most?

Depends on what I think I can share or what are the interests of that person, I can't talk about books or art in a active and sporty person. I can't talk about online games on a non-gamer type of person.

Don't be too obsessed with having to know everything.

(Kasi ang maraming alam pinapatay ay mali...) Life is a continuous learning process, just use it the right way...

To be curious about things we don't have any business in... quite obviously, it's none of our business.

Curiousity kills the cat, just try to be informed lang. Wag masyadong pakialamera (ehem) LOL

End (Tired to be continued)
