"Morgan, what are you doing in there?" Teagan asked as she passed him on her way to the weapon shack.
"Um, I was going to ask Morgan where the best weapons for killing annoying campmates are," Teagan sighed, "And watch out for the vase! That looks like it's three thousand years old or something! You know what! It probably is."
"Anyway, if nobody is interested in a cruel death, I think I'll just sit here a while," Teagan slumped against the cabin walls. The cool breeze blew against her face.
Morgan walked in. “Teagan?” He said in surprise. “What are you doing here? I was just looking for you.” He sat down on his bed and motioned her to sit as well. Morgan noticed her expression. “Are you okay?”
"The more depressed I get the more people bug me and the more annoyed I get which causes depression! It's a never-ending loop!" Teagan wiped her eyes again and a little of her makeup smeared.
Morgan hesitated before putting a comforting hand on her shoulder. “That’s rough. The first year is always the hardest.” He thought for a second. “Do you have any friends in Circe or Hecate or any of the gods/goddesses of magic? I heard they can cast some pretty good curses.” (Kk, byeee)
"Listen, I have no friends. Nobody liked me in school because it was hard for me to read. I was deemed stupid. Then I thought I'd made friends online, but they liked this other person and said rude things to me. I was cyberbullied," Teagan slumped.
Morgan hugged her. “Hey, it’s okay.” He said. “You have a friend right here who cares. So what if you can’t read that well? 99.9% of demigods have dyslexia, including me. And who cares about some stupid cyberbully? They’re just jealous that you’re so unique and beautiful.”
"Thanks," Teagan turned to look at him and smiled slightly. "That's one of the reasons I wanted my phone," she confessed, "I listen to audio books there. I pretend to use social media, but I actually listen to books. I felt embarrassed to admit it because I thought you'd think I was stupid."
“Trust me, I don’t think you’re stupid Teagan.” Morgan said. “I always thought social media was stupid. I used to listen to audiobooks all the time until my teacher helped me with reading. I could help you if you want.”
"Really? I'm not very good at reading. My dad gave up on my pretty early. The only reason I'm in high school is because of the good grades I get in math. The words always swim on the page, and I can't concentrate," Teagan looked hopeful.
“It gets easier and easier, I promise.” Morgan replied. “You just got to learn to concentrate, and I can help you with that. Most of the stuff I read are in Ancient Greek, and I have the Ancient Greek copies of a few mortal books that you can borrow.”
"Do you have any classics in Greek? They were the ones I could get for free on my phone. I kinda grew up on them," Teagan looked at Morgan eagerly.
"Oh, and thank you. Your friendship means a lot to me," Teagan started to tear up again."Suddenly a loud crash outside made her jump. A teenager flew into the cabin and slammed the door. His chest was heaving.
"Who are you?" Teagan stood up and looked at Morgan for an explanation."Wha-?" the boy turned, and seeing Morgan, Teagan, an Tritanus, stumbled backward into a vase. His eyes were full of fear, and he looked ready to kill to escape.
Morgan jumped in surprise. “Triantus? Why is everyone in my cabin now?” He muttered. “I do have a few…” He pulled out the desk under his lofted bed, and opened a drawer revealing old classics. “Here Teagan.” He said. “I thought Triantus was on a quest?”
(Triantus is on a quest rn, with an oc of mine.)
(Triantus is on a quest rn, with an oc of mine.)
“I don’t know who he is.” Morgan said honestly, looking at the kid. “Not a sibling of mine of course, since I have none.” He walked toward the boy. “Hey, are you okay? Did something happen?” Then he turned to Teagan and mouthed “We may need some charmspeak to calm this kid down.”
"Good idea, Morgan," Teagan turned to the boy."Hey, can you tell us your name?"
The boy looked at Morgan and Teagan. He swallowed hard and replied shakily,
"I'm Noah,"
Teagan looked at Morgan and continued,
"Where are you from and why are you here?"
"I'm from Georgia. And I've lived here for a year and a half,"
"I'm Noah!" Noah snapped as he sat up suddenly. He glared at the two kids and scooted back against the wall even further.
She turned back to Noah."I know you're Noah," she whispered soothingly. She felt funny. She'd been crying not that long ago and here she was comforting a kid who was crying!
"Of course you're the goddess of revenge's daughter! Now I have another one to deal with!" Teagan turned to Morgan."Who is this?" she whispered.
"Oh! Yes! Sure!" Teagan said loudly. She glared at Kora."You can clean when we're done! Sound good?"
She looked at Kora and then motioned with her hands at the sobbing boy in the corner. She made a face and shook her head.
