Mystery Madness discussion

This will be our discussion thread for the third section of the book. Just pause after you finish chapter 42 and leave some comments here.
Do you have any predictions at this point of how you think the story will end?

Interesting change of plot here. Now we have two characters bent on vengeance vying against one another. Marion and Avery are both very damaged people and each thinks they have the upper hand over the other.

Even though Avery is a nine-year-old child, I think she is actually going to triumph over Marion. I don’t think Marion has a clue how a child Avery’s age can control an adult, but I think Avery will surprise her, and not in a good way. Avery has all the characteristics of ODD, oppositional defiance disorder, which I think she will cleverly use to get the upper hand.

I will be finishing this book tonight as I am reading it very quickly now, so I will know the ending soon!

I would also like to say, I think this author is a clever writer. I have read The Couple Next Door, by her but I like this one much better.

I was surprised that Avery's location was revealed so soon in the book. I guess that means that there will be more twists and turns before we are done.
A couple of days ago I doubted whether or not I could easily finish this by the end of the month, but like Kristin, I'm reading it very quickly now and the chapters are clicking along. I do love short chapters!!
