Matthew McConaughey has led an interesting life in his 50+ years and he is certainly not shy about sharing the details. He came from a loving and volatile Texas family with 2 older brothers and parents who divorced twice and married each other 3 times. At first he felt drawn to the legal profession but soon realized he would be 30 years old before he would start making money so he followed his deep-seated dream to attend film school. Hollywood beckoned and his career as a bona fide movie star began. Since the age of 15 he had kept diaries and eventually decided to write this book. It is full of stories, personal thoughts and a lot of his own philosophy. Greenlights are the situations that you should embrace and move forward hopefully enriching your life as you do. I enjoyed the book although there are a few 'ew' moments I could do without, but that's Matthew's true self.
