I am assuming that we use one book for one task. Task number one has a list of genres, are we to read one of each?

You have to read one book for this task and can pick one of the genres. You do not have to read one book per genre :)
So for example one non-fiction book and then the task is done!

I hope this is the right place, can I please use my free skip for Task 10 Read one self-help or personal development book.

Yes you can, just read a book that meets the guidelines instead :)
