I really did not like this book. I felt that it was incredibly slow and any connection to the characters that was being built in the first book was lost in the second. I liked maybe one character, but even that is not enough to keep a series going. Though, one thing I do like is that while Cassia is the protagonist, she is not the "end all be all". It is more that she exists in this world and is just surviving versus being the key to redemption for this world. In many dystopians, we follow the story of the person who will change the larger dynamic of the world. But with Cassia, I feel as if she is a single glimpse in the world, and I like that. However, this will probably change in the final book...

And she doesn't know she's gorgeous either. Ugh. Trope much, people?
I did like this series. Cassia acted instead of having the moment force her to act.

We are now on the second book. I would love your opinions on the series.
