Currently on top of my TBR is

Auto-buy authors in the genre: Susan Fanetti, Lauren Gilley, Cat Porter, Autumn Jones Lake and Lina Andersson, although Lina Andersson hasn't published anything in ages, and I'm wondering what happened with her.
Don't need bookish MC boyfriend to date, have a real one :-). (That answers the what drew me to the genre question too).
And what I'd love to see on here, well this is a great start. Perhaps a place to share MC themed freebies and deals, perhaps "anyone remember that book" - I have one book a plot which I partially remember and have no idea about the title and author, it's been bugging me for ages. Fun polls are always welcome. And perhaps a topic to rave about that great book we just read.
Gonna try and invite some friends to join us on here now that it started, the more the merrier :-).

I have a ton of biker books on my TBR to read and hoping this will help me get that done.
Thank you for the invite Eleven!
I love biker stories even though most of them are completely unrealistic. I really don't care if they are. I'm in it for the 'Rough around the edges Alpha', the action & suspense. And of course, the great love scenes and romance. The story itself is most important to me.
What drew you to the Genre? Got over all the 'Billionaire' trope. I like that most of the main characters in a biker story are more 'Real' in finances and everyday type life. AND I love a good Crime/Mystery/Thriller. You can get that easier in a biker story.
What you'd love to experience within this group? I'd love to see y'all set up Buddy Reads or Book of the month or Group reads for a biker book. If I own the book then I would read it with the group. If I don't own it I look to my libraries. If I have to buy it, then I may or may not join the reading.

Thanks for joining us :-).
You explained it great, it is exactly how I feel - a lot of times I have to laugh how unrealistic the stories are, but that is a big part of what makes it good, it is fiction and it is fun. Personally I can't stand the 'billionaire' trope, wouldn't be able to stomach that kind of person in real life, why would I want to read about them?

Exactly. I'm 64 years old and have only met ONE billionaire/millionaire in my life. And he definitely was NOT
'Jump My Bones' hot. 🤣 No muscles from working. Kind of chunky in the middle.

Yup, only know one too. And while not exactly fugly, he's most definitively not like in the books - what especially cracks me up is not the part about muscles - which I can somehow even digest since some of the rich guys probably do work out (although most of them tend to be flabby and fat), it's the part with all the tattoos - while ink has become kind of mainstream, how many very rich corporate folks are inked all over? It just doesn't fit.

Lord Have Mercy, you got that right!
Most 'Rich' people do not have tattoos
And if they do they are always 'Hidden' somewhere. Definitely not on their necks and arms where their peers can see them.
There are some exceptions. But that's mostly celebrities that became 'Rich & Famous'

This reminded me of that song, "Tattooed Millionaire" by Dickinson. Obviously it's rare enough to warrant a song :-).
And yes, most rich folks frown upon any kind of body mods. The millionaire guy I know almost had a heart attack when he saw my arm :-).

I'm OLD rock n roll 🤣
But I checked it out.
Curiosity killed the Cat
Satisfaction brought her Back 🤭
It sounds a bit like 'Screamer' music.

It is a bit harsh and loud, yes. Something I listened to back while I was young and angry. Now, middle-aged and irritated me prefers calmer music too. Old school rock n roll all the way.

I find that sad, don't you? To tell you the truth, I'm kinda worried about younger generations. They seem so... I don't know how to describe it, not alive enough? Not completely alive? Like they're missing something.

Oh man, if I start on what I think about all this Politically Correct crap, we'll hijack the thread completely. I can rant about it for days. Happy to have you here, you're most welcome. As for biker book recommendations, if you haven't read it, start with Brazen Bulls series by Susan Fanetti, Crash is one hot book.

Firstly, thank you for inviting friends to join this space & spread that MC love, and welcome Eleven. Also thank you for answering these questions, and the suggestions for what you'd like to see created within the group.
I have an Autum Jones book on my TBR list to read that I can't wait to get to. I started listening to the audio last year, and then had to drop a subscription.
What are your favourite Autum Jones books. All the other authors mentioned are new names to me & I will go check them out.
Freebies and deals !!! Heck yes, I went through my kindle app yesterday and noted down some of the novella length or insta books that had either light MC or darker MC elements that I got as freebies, and will share some of my TBR reads that I picked up free.
It could be fun one month to maybe have a collaborative experience where we each pick a few shorter, freebie books and at the end of the month come together on a zoom, book club style and share our recommendations? Get a taste for new Authors, or old favourites and bring awareness to their books.
Looking forward to connecting more through the group as I become more active now <3

Thank you for joining the group Debra *dances* Happy to have you here.
I can relate with the burn out from reading in particular genres, and the desire for a different economic exploration. Since finances def play a part in the construct of societies, getting to explore the different sub-cultures through fiction in both realistic, and non-realistic ways add a layer to the story. That rough outlaw, compared to a billionaire, there is a whole different vibe and buy in for me.
I love that MC has the romantic suspense and organized crime aspect to it too. The Brotherhood and found family that comes internally and externally from the club. Having elements of thriller, mystery and crime, with a spectrum of heat !!! Yes please.
Do you have any exemplar books that really hit those additional themes and tropes for you?
I'm hoping to do a sweep each month of the potential books we could read as Monthly picks/Buddy reads & whether they can be found on sites like Kindle Unlimited, Google Books, Libby, Everand , Any Play or Amazon. So that to the best of my ability I can create an accessible reading experience for everyone, so no one has to miss out. Including in this if you find a free read, and let us all know, and it sounds like a great pick for a buddy read, if we are all able to get it free or low cost, I am SUPER open to choosing that book.
Can't wait to chat more and get to know you better Debra. <3

Right? I feel like it is one of those genres that is hard to hit for me too. I have read a few where the Hero is more submissive, and he is seeking that power dynamics with the heroine. I can't remember those books though XD I find it more promising for me if those stories are Sapphic or Queer in general for me. There is something way more intriguing to me about a Rich woman than a Rich man XD
What do you think about MC or Biker books and their different holding and management of the wealth that they accumulate/ or loose? For example I have noticed a lot of MC books have some kind of Womens shelter, or program that supports the community with their money and I feel more drawn to those clubs and characters, more than I would a rich philanthropist - as they really are embedded (for better or worse) in their local communities.

OooH speaking of ink - Have you read any Tattoo Artists/Studio themed MC Books - Either where the hero owns one as an extension of his business or the heroine does, or wants to be tattooed - how hot is that XD? Those are some trope/themes I am in for.

I won't comment - as I will be here for days XD Esp as a 34 year old millennial. (Albeit a fierce driven one - who has a lot of life) Outside of reading, and my career in genre fiction. I also work part time on my own projects, and assisting others doing independent research and scholarship around communities, and community architecture - specifically in the more digital anthropology/humanities and science space, and one of the things I am noticing is the disparities between my generation, and the one just born after Millennials in terms of their relationships, identity and whole self-construct based in digital lives... (Alright enough on that) It is just fascinating.

Thank you for creating and starting this group :-).
Autumn Jones Lake's books - while they are all good and probably best enjoyed in order, I do have my favorites. From her LOKI universe, my favorite are Teller's books, Rooster's and Zero's. (Which, as I understand, is not a usual choice, most people are into Hope and Rock). Wrath and Trinity are not my cup of tea (tho their beginning is very intriguing) and Murphy and Heidi started great but were kinda disappointing.
But, books that I perhaps enjoyed the most are in fact about Demons, not Lost Kings - specifically, her Hollywood Demons series. They're more of a rocker - biker blend, but Chaser is a great character.

Welcome Holly <3 PRing for 4 authors - That is incredible. I'd love to hear your about your experience of being a PR (are they romance books)?
You are in the right place for recommendations (Eleven is already sharing so many intriguing ones to add to the TBR) between the buddy reads, sprints, freebies, and author spotlights I hope you can find something to enjoy within the genre. Do you prefer to read short, novellas, full length novels or a mixture of all?
I hope you are able to join in with the first Buddy read running through April - Lessons in Corruption?
Can't wait to connect more Holly <3

I have a lot of books on my TBR list. top of my list right now is Jane: Knights Wrath MC, Book 1. My auto buy authors are Cee Bowerman, Lani Lynn Vale,LeAnn Ashers and Elizabeth N. Harris just a few. I love this genre because I love the family dynamic, how the men treat their women, and they live in the gray. To connect with people who likes the same books and able to talk to about them.

Welcome Shannon. Love reading Lani Lynn Vale. C.McGinlay is a new to me author but I'll have to check her out, love a good groveling (my pet peeve in a lot of books is how easy women forgive and get over great sins).
You brought out some excellent points for why we love this genre.
Please feel free to suggest books for our buddy reads and comment everywhere in the group, we have (I hope) a lot of interesting topics. Looking forward to interacting with you :-).

Welcome Shannon, you are in goid company here with the love for the family dynamics, support for the women & the fray lives that the brotherhoods live.
It's an immediate draw & comfort for me :) I keep coming back to the genre for the bonds, the heat & the found family elements to. Do you have any recs where you think the author excells with found family elements?
Some authors on your list for me to check out & enjoy. I have Snake on my top books to read, however I do enjoy a stand alone too, so falling for danger sounds like one to put on my weekend devour list.
Awesome to have you here ♡
