In this book, the mystery directly involves Enola when her landlady, Mrs Tupper, is kidnapped. Whilst searching for clues, Enola realises that Florence Nightingale is involved, and on speaking to her, Enola is told that Nightingale has engaged Sherlock’s services to look into this mystery. This time, the entire book focuses on the cases, which feels different to the other cases Enola has been involved in due to her emotional investment this time. Sherlock is also shown in a slightly different way, as we see him beginning to understand that what he believes is right for Enola may not actually be what is best for her. This was another fun read, and Enola is still as intelligent and witty as she was in the previous books in this series.
