Here's my first stab at a blurb:
Midnight, September 22, 2008, White Elephant House, Toronto. Twenty-three-year-old Cora hears footsteps on the stairs. Is it her missing dad, or whoever took him? He disappeared seven years ago. No body, just a cryptic note – with today’s date. Police suspected suicide. Cora didn’t – at first. But after wasting years down rabbit holes, she’s done everything she can to run from it. Now the day is here, and she can’t run anymore. The stranger on the stairs is here for her. She’s the only one – in any dimension – who can find her father, the lost King.
Under the violet skies of Tinvelt, the people have long awaited their prophesized Spring Witch. The one who brings the power to destroy a poisonous dragon and his army of Exilers who have laid siege to their kingdom for a century. Cora travels there with Namrik, Captain of the Dragon’s Watch, and learns to channel her power with the help of a mysterious sorority of witches. But in Tinvelt’s strange, soap-bubble light, not all is what it seems. Cora will have to reveal hidden truths about who she is and the world she’s in, if she’s to save her father, the kingdom – and herself.
