A wasteland moderately away from Battery city. This is where most of the Killjoys live.

message 4: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan was sitting on the ground, her head tilted up to the sky but her eyes were closed. She couldn't stand this place but it was better than anywhere else she could be. She sat forward, opening her eyes as she did so. There was nothing to do and it was making her more restless than normal knowing this. Even the thought of going for a long walk into Battery City and picking a fight with someone there was starting to look appealing but she would never do it.

message 5: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan fixed her posture as she glanced at the girl beside her. She cleared her throat and shrugged. "I guess yeah." She murmured as she pushed her too long red hair out of her face. It needed cut but it was something she could never bring herself to do and she didn't exactly have any friends who could help her out.

message 6: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan nodded slightly after looking at her long brain hair. "Yeah. It's beyond frustrating." She admitted, giving another small shrug. She bit her lip and told herself to relax. Would it really be so bad to have one person she could talk to? "I'm Dylan by the way." She said and gave her a small smile and though she tried to make it genuine she failed and it looked obviously forced.

message 7: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan nodded and smiled a little, this time more genuinely. "Neither do I normally but I thought hey why not try it for once. Turns out I'm not much good at it." She smirked a little before sighing quietly. She took a breath and smelt the strong smell of whatever they were going to feed them today. "Smells iffy." She commented absently.

message 8: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan nodded in agreement. "Couldn't have said it better myself." She murmured and stretched her arms out in front of her. "Come on. If we want to eat something we should go over now before it's all gone." She said as she slowly stood up and shook some feeling back into her partially numb legs. The food was never the best but it was good enough to eat when you had nothing else.

message 9: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan crossed her arms over her chest as she walked over to where the others where. "Uh it's Cyanide Cola." She told her quietly and chewed her lip. There was no story behind her killjoy name, it was just two words she had picked. She knew some of the others could go on for hours about their names but she had never bothered to stop and listen. "We could sit over there." She suggested to Valentine. The spot she had pointed out was quiet but it wasn't too far away from everyone else.

message 10: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan got herself a plate and some food before going over to sit beside Valentine. Never having been one for small talk she started eating what appeared to be roasted beef. Before the world went wrong the meal would have disgusted her, and deep down there was a part of her that was still disgusted but the growling of her stomach drowned out everything else.

message 11: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan finished eating and put the plate beside her, not trusting her ability to throw it and have it land in the fire. "Of course. We all do. We wouldn't be here if we didn't." She answered. Her hair fell in her face yet again and she scowled at it. She gave in and tied it up tightly so that it didn't have the option of falling in her view again. "What makes you ask?" She looked at Valentine, her curiosity too much for her to ignore.

message 12: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan smirked and nodded to herself. Someone was bound to notice eventually. "My mom was a vegetarian so we never ate meat. I asked why and she told me and gave me the option to eat meat if I wanted but it didn't appeal to me." She explained, managing to keep most of the emotion from her voice. "It wasn't until I came here that I tried meat. It's disgusting but I'm more fond of it than I am of the idea of starving to death." She shrugged it off and pulled her knees up to her chest.

message 13: by Rachel (new)

Rachel "No don't apologise." Dylan said quickly. "There isn't anything to be sorry for really." She admitted and bit her lip. "It feels kind of nice to have someone to talk to." She confessed and looked at her hands, feeling like a tiny weight had been lifted from her. Maybe everyone had been right... Maybe talking to people did help, even if it was only a little bit.

message 14: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan looked over at Valentine, trying to think of something appropriate to reply with. "Oh um... that sucks." She murmured and bit her lip. Sympathy was really not her strong point. "I mean I'm sorry. That must have been really awful." She said trying her best to sound like she cared. Which she did but she always felt that when she was making an attempt at sympathy she sounded sarcastic, especially when she didn't mean to.

message 15: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan looked up at Valentine, slightly shocked at the offer. When she saw that she was being genuine and actually want to help her, she lost the ability to speak. "Oh um that would be great thanks yeah." She nodded and gave the other girl a rare smile. Did this make them friends? Or at least something on the way to becoming friends? Strangely she found she was sort of excited about the idea.

message 16: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan got up and brushed off her jeans. "Probably not yeah." She smiled a little before following after Valentine towards the shed. The air was getting cooler as the sky got darker and soon most people would probably go inside. "Actually," she said changing her mind. "Getting it cut short might not be such a bad idea." She admitted and looked at the other girl.

message 17: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan looked around the shed, accidentally kicking part of a ray gun across the floor as she walked inside. "I want it different. Long hair it too much hassle. Besides I need a change, things around here have been kind of boring recently." She murmured and glanced up at Valentine when she pulled out the scissors. "Short short." She said then realised that wasn't very helpful. Her eyes caught sight of a stool and she pulled that out to the middle of the floor, remembering the last time her hair had been she had had to sit. "Can you cut it from here?" She asked pointing her finger just above the spot where the tie was for her pony tail.

message 18: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan shrugged. "Don't worry about that. You'll do a better job than I could and if it goes wrong well who cares? It's hair. It'll grow back eventually." She smiled a little up at the other girl, having confidence in this person she had only really just met. She listened as she talked about her old life. "That sounds cool." She said and bit her lip. "If you want to start talking about the weather feel free." She told her hoping that she sounded genuine and not that she was trying to make fun of her.

message 19: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan forced herself to sit very still. Moving around wasn't going to make this any easier for Valentine and she didn't want to annoy her new friend away. "How come?" She asked curiously when she started speaking about her real parents. She realised after she asked that the question might be too personal but she had asked it now, if the other girl didn't want to answer she didn't have to.

message 20: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan looked round when the scissors dropped. "Hey, it's alright. Take a minute." She told the other girl, standing up and gesturing for her to sit on the stool while she calmed herself down. The shaky hands and the off tone of voice was something Dylan recognised and could relate to. It was difficult to talk about the past when everything in it seemed so dark and scary. "My parents were killed by the BLI." She told her and bit her lip. She didn't want to move the attention away from Valentine and onto herself but she thought it might help if she started talking about her parents too.

message 21: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan nodded in agreement. "Yeah." She murmured and shrugged. "It's alright. I'm slowly realising that it does actually help to talk about these things." She told her and smiled kindly. "I guess it's also easier if you talk to someone else who has a hard time talking because at least they can understand how difficult it is." She bit her lip and blushed. She hasn't meant to say so much but the words had just uncharacteristically tumbled from her mouth.

message 22: by Rachel (new)

Rachel "Good idea." Dylan nodded as she sat back down on the stool and turned around on it so that her back was to Valentine making it easier for her to cut her hair. "You're welcome but for what?" She asked, glancing back at Val with her eyebrows raised in curiosity. If anything she felt it should be Dylan thanking Valentine but she didn't say anything about that just yet.

Allie Pinto | 54 comments Bastard walked through the dusty camp, his boots smacking against the ground, his hand on his holster as he looked around at all the tired faces. He could have emphasized with them, pitted them but seventeen years of higher teachings had told him that they were scum and they weren't worth it, of course, they would never see what he truly felt, after all it was his job and he was good at his job. Ben pushed open a door to a random shack, eagerly searching for something, anything that would lead to a little bit of fun.

message 24: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan rolled her eyes. "I'm not putting up with you. It's kind of nice to have someone to sit with and stuff." She blushed faintly and bit her lip. "It feels weird." She said honestly when asked about her new hair. "Both in a good way and a bad way." She chewed her lip as she thought about it. "This is going to sound really strange but my head feels kind of lighter in way." Her blush spread over her cheeks, nearly matching the colour of her hair. When the door opened Dylan startled, jumping up slightly and causing her a wrong chunk of her hair to be cut.

Allie Pinto | 54 comments Ben paused in the open door way, his baby blue eyes shifting lazily between the blond one and the Burnett. After a moment of silence he threw his head back in laughter.
"Grace of a gazelle over here" he said jerking a thumb towards the blond haired girl "need a little more off the top?" He asked as he rolled a small blade in between his knuckles
"Relax" he soothed leaning up against the frame "God you woman, always so jumpy" he said with a wicked grin slithering onto his face

Allie Pinto | 54 comments "Well" he said as he slipped his knife back into his belt and clapped his hands together "I'm on a very important mission" he whispered, his devilish smile inching its way closer to his crystal eyes "I have to find the lu, but then i stumbled onto you girls and you seem far more interesting then havin' to take a piss" he mused. A master with a gun, sure, a master of subtlety not so much. They called him Bastard for a reason and he did nothing to mask the name

Rachel ((Sorry I got sidetracked >.<))

Dylan sat quietly on the stool, eyeing up the man who had just walked in. She glanced at Valentine who was still pointing the rusty scissors at him. In her head she quickly ran over any weapons she had on or near her body. She didn't trust this guy at all. When he finished speaking she couldn't help but roll her eyes. It was because of people like him that she usually avoided socialising.

((Sorry. It's kinda rubbish. >.<))

Allie Pinto | 54 comments His smile spread and he gave a small shrug lifting his hands up in defense "Hey, you are the ones who pulled out the blades first. I was just trying to get out of here in one piece, wouldnt want you to damage my pretty face" he said with a wink.
"I realize my manners are a bit off" he mused "but this isn't a curtesy call, found a few rogue BLI drones a few miles off and just wanted to know if anyone wanted to come stir up some trouble?" he asked, cocking his brow and giving the petit girls a quick look over. There was nothing Blue liked more then blood

((cool :) ))

message 31: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Any other time Dylan would have jumped at the chance to go cause trouble but there was something about this guy that just didn't feel right. She glanced up at Valentine and shrugged. "Your call." She said quietly, keeping an eye on the boy out of the corner of her eye. She ran her hand through her hair and was pleasantly surprised when she reached the ends so quickly.

message 32: by Allie (last edited Apr 06, 2015 02:35AM) (new)

Allie Pinto | 54 comments His smiled widened until it seemed that his face couldn't stretch any further.
"I'll keepy my hands to myself, but will you sweet cheeks?" he said licking his lips.
"Lead the way, sour puss, not like you know where i saw the drones or anything" he called after.
He looked the blonde girl up and down "It suits you" he said as she passed, giving a genuine smile for once and trying to retain from being "creepy"

message 33: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan nodded at Valentine and stood up. "Sounds fun." She murmured and crossed her arms over her chest as she walked outside behind her. She nodded at the guy as she passed, acknowledging what he said to her. She was back to how she was normally, bitter and unsmiling with a grudge against the world.

((I might be a little spacey just now. Sorry if I am :/))

message 34: by Allie (new)

Allie Pinto | 54 comments He just shrugged "I prefer to call it one sided optimism" he purred as he moved swiftly to the front, leading the girls away from the camp. The sun was just starting to fade and the sky had strayed to turn an odd purple pinkish colourful, beautiful in its own little way, whether it was pollution or natural appeal there was no way to be sure

message 35: by Allie (new)

Allie Pinto | 54 comments ((Sorry if I don't respond im starting to doze off here too :P ))

message 36: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan jogged over to Valentine so that she could walk beside her. "I don't trust him." She murmured to her new friend, frowning slightly. She wasn't sure what that piece of information could possibly do to help but she felt a little better after sharing it with Val. She chewed her lip and ran her hand through her hair.

message 37: by Allie (new)

Allie Pinto | 54 comments Bastard held his stupid little grin, knowing that the girls weren't exactly his favourite admirers.
They'll come around, he thought to himself. They continued down the dusty road until they reached his car. It wasn't exactly a car per say, more of a jeep without doors and lifted a few extra feet off the ground. He slid into the drivers seat and reaves the engine.

message 38: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan coughed to cover up the dry laugh that escaped her. "That would be entertaining to watch." She admitted and continued walking. She raised her eyebrows curiously at his jeep thing but didn't ask. A car was a car, no matter what it looked like. "Hey, you never told us your name." She pointed out glancing over at the guy, they hadn't told him their names either but she wasn't going to say anything about that.

message 39: by Allie (new)

Allie Pinto | 54 comments Bastard attempted a bow from his seat and said in his toxic voice "Blue Bastard, at your service"
He gave them his slimy smile and paused "Its nice to meet you Dylan, I've heard a lot about you as well Valentine".
He put the car into drive and sped off into the wastelands. Before Bastard had left home he had found all the records his father had on the rebels in the wastelands, there wasn't much except a few photos and the names of the rebels.

message 40: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan sat in the backseat of the jeep and crossed her arms over her chest again. She looked at Valentine in the front and nodded a little, letting her friend know she was okay. She froze mid-way through forming the first word to a sarcastic comment when she heard her name come from his sleazy mouth. How the hell did the creep know her name? She leaned back in her seat and said nothing, trying to appear indifferent, as if what had just happened didn't bother her at all.

message 41: by Allie (new)

Allie Pinto | 54 comments He threw his head in laughter, reaching across her and popping open the glove box, taking out his hat and tipping it over one eye, covering up his platinum hair.
He gave a nonchalant shrug "I've seen you both around before, mutual friends and such" he said trying to blow off their concern. He knew it was a risky move but he couldn't help trying to get under their skin

message 42: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan raised an eyebrow. "Mutual friends?" She asked leaning forward again so she wouldn't feel ignored. "Mutual friends implies that both you and I have at least one friend the same." She pointed out, looking over at him. "And considering I don't actually like anyone but one person that might be slightly untrue." She raised her eyebrows at him as she patiently waited for his reply.

message 43: by Allie (new)

Allie Pinto | 54 comments His smile grew "fine fine, just a tiny lie but the truth would be harder to explain" he said simply. He slowed the car down in the middle of the bleak desert
"No more questions, or you can walk back" an ultimatum, his favourite

message 44: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan rolled her eyes. "Walking back seems more preferable anyway." She muttered and set her jaw, clearly hacked off and now more bored than she was earlier. She pulled the small pocket knife from the inside of her shoe and started fiddling with it as he drove to wherever it was he was taking them. Maybe getting in a car with a total stranger who was also super creepy hadn't been the smartest idea she had ever had.

message 45: by Allie (new)

Allie Pinto | 54 comments He laughed his dark and mysterious laughed "I've known since I was a baby, why do you think they call me Bastard?" He teased.
He put the car into drive but before they even moved it stalled and then engine shut off.
"Perfect" he mumbled to himself getting out and kicking the tire with all his force "look what you did" he said frustrated as he ran his hands through his hair "pop the hood, I have to get this thing running before they beat us here"

message 46: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan leaned her head back and glanced over at Valentine. "Walking back wouldn't be that bad." She said quietly to her and sighed as he got out and kicked the car. "I'm sure that's very helpful." She muttered under her breath as she sat up again. She got out the jeep and walked over to see what was wrong and if she could help.

message 47: by Allie (new)

Allie Pinto | 54 comments He rubbed the back of his neck nervously "ummm... no not really" he said with a laugh. His father had taught him many things, lying, cheating, but he never taught him how to fix a car.
"But we have to get this thing working fast" he said as he looked behind nervously "they'll be here soon"

message 48: by Rachel (new)

Rachel Dylan rolled her eyes and walked around the two of them. She pulled off her jacket and dumped it at her feet before lifting the hood up and looking to find what was wrong. She poked around a little and smirked to herself as she stood up and looked over at them again. "Well one the poor thing hasn't been checked in what appears to be ever." She said and bit her lip as she glanced back down at the engine.

((Uh... do you want it to be something like out of gas or that a part isn't working? :3))

message 49: by Allie (new)

Allie Pinto | 54 comments ((hmm not sure, probably just like a simple engine problem :P But i had an idea that maybe like three of the BLI jeeps could be driving up as they're stranded))

message 50: by Allie (new)

Allie Pinto | 54 comments Barnard spun around "yup, that would be them" he reached for his pistol ready for a fight, but he wouldn't be fighting the BLI. It was another one of his plans, a way to eliminate the rebel enemy. But as stood there waiting for them to pull up and attack he thought of a new plan, one that involved earning the girls trust and then taking out all the rebels in wasteland 6 all at once
