those are called lucid dreams. i have had one before although i did not want to wake up lol. only about 40% of the population has one in there lifetime, 15% ever have multible. if you have multible you are either really stressed o have depression. this is bad cuz it gives you very little sleep and sometimes gives you sleep paralysis that is the same for everyone who has it and is described as a dream where they know it is a dream but they can not wake up or move and a demon slowly walks toward them and in the dream they will try to wake up but can not until a alarm goes off or peeps shake you awake. peeps describe it as very scary and they thought they would die

Alpha : ♡ Senior Year ♡ (desiebookie) | 145 comments I had one of my worst dreams the other night.... I choked to death.. The scariest part is I know exactly who was there and where it was... Something I usually don't get in my dreams.
I was at the beach, Myrtle Beach, (I know the hotel but not the name, my family has stayed there before). We were in a waiting room with windows facing the beach, but the windows were covered by black silk. I was sitting with my mom, dad, and sister around me on little stools. I started coughing and couldn't breathe but then it turned to choking I guess and my dream went black. Then my mind went, "Well, I guess this is it..." and I woke up.
It was terrifying. And worse, every since I woke up from that at around 3am, I wake up at 3am and struggle to fall asleep and I'm currently living knowing I'm not satisfied with my life. I don't know what to do and wanted to tell someone. If anyone has any comments or suggestions or anything, please, tell me.

It may symbolize a sense of being overwhelmed or suffocated in some aspect of your life. This dream can also reflect suppressed emotions or difficulties in expressing oneself. The feeling of struggling to breathe can create a sense of vulnerability and anxiety. Hope that helps^^

Birdsong231☾ (pm before invs) (birdsong231) | 16 comments Hooooo, my dreams are fcked up. (Tell if swearing is a no-no. There's nothing in the rules against swearing, so I'm just assuming it's fine) I've got PTSD, and my brain puts me through nightmares and night terrors to process them. It's extremely rare for me to have a good dream. I haven't had one in a while, or at least to what I recall. I often forget them as soon as I wake up, which I'm quite thankful for, ngl. ;u; Mine nowadays always represent vulnerability, needing to open up or heal, suffering from insert mental health issue here, processing trauma, anything along those lines. (I only realized how much trauma I've gone through just two years ago. I'm too scared to try to deal with my trauma rn. I'm scared of myself and what I've done to myself in the past. I don't trust myself to not collapse under the emotional pain at this point in time, so I've been shoving my trauma-induced feelings to a back corner in my mind until I'm safe enough with myself.)

Or, y'know, my brain is mean and targets my arachnophobia. xD I call the worst of that kind the "Great Spider Invasion of 2012". Started out with snakes in the bathtub, biting me, which didn't seem to phase me? But once I got out...eight legged demons...everywhere...every inch of the fcking apartment building was crawling with the fckers. The moment I got out of the building, I woke up screaming.

One dream I vividly remember being terrified of when I was little was the nightmare involving kitty litter monsters. Clean litter, thank god, but still. xD I laugh whenever I think of it now. If y'all have ever seen the Ents from the Lord of the Rings movies, imagine those but make it kitty litter. It was weird.

But then there's also those rare dreams that are so weird that there aren't any words in the any language on this planet to describe just how fckin weird it was. I've had...two or three of those, and I'm still utterly perplexed as to what my brain was doing to bring those to me. xD

um it might mean you are trying to run away from reality or from a certain thing or emotion that is suppressing you.

Sounds like you're bottling up your emotions and these emotions are starting to affect your mental wellbeing, or you're avoiding dealing with a very prominent stress in your life. (Depending if it's trauma, it could be a PTSD thing. That's what it's like for me, at least.)

Latte ~ Hiatus **INACTIVE** | 6 comments A dream so bizarre that I wrote it downv

October 24, 2023

I was a woman, probably young. I was white and I think I looked like Bella from Twilight. Actually in the beginning I was a man. Middle-aged. On a farm. I took my son out, who was about 16, and I was teaching him how to drive on the highway. My son hit a man. Younger than me, in his late 20s. We hit his car and I think I congratulated my son. We drove off. I don't remember much after but the next thing I knew I was that woman and I was alone in my car. The man I hit wanted to terrorize me and made repeated attempts to murder me. Once he tried to hit me with his car. And then I went to st sebastian. He released a killer wasp on me and I escaped it. I don't remember anything after that. I woke up later.

mary sofia - BREAK BC OF SCHOOL | 39 comments I have a lot of dreams of me dying or someone I love being tortured
so my subconscious is healthy, right?

Dreams of deaths mean the beginning of a new chapter in the person's life. Torture tends to mean the person feels powerless, vulnerable, guilty, or has a fear of being emotionally manipulated.

According to a 2019 review, we dream because it can help us process and understand emotions. Research shows that sometimes dreams about someone dying signify a lasting connection with a loved one who passed away. Other times, it means a change is coming to your life, with one thing ending and another beginning.
