I'll be joining in this month -- although this author's The Inugami Curse (apa The Inugami Clan) is my favorite of the series so far, I really enjoyed The Honjin Murders. It will be fun to give it a reread and then watch the film adaptation afterward, which somehow I missed when I first read the novel. And by the way, there's another Kindaichi novel coming out later this year, The Little Sparrow Murders.

Aman Singh (amusrn) | 4 comments I really liked the fast paced writing of Seishi Yokomizo and hence I recommended it. One of the best locked room mystery. I am looking forward to read more from this author.

Okay, so I've just reached the part where Kindaichi is sent for after the discovery is made the morning after the wedding. Jeez, what a creepy scene Yokomizo set up for the murder!

AC | 3 comments This is my first time posting in this forum, though I have been following Nancy for a long time. I finished this book yesterday and thought it outstanding. The many digressions on the history of mystery writing were especially interesting. I hope others will enjoy it as much as I did.

aww shucks!

I'm now at the point of the novel where Kindaichi is introduced and has made his way to the home of the Ichiyanagi family. I had to inwardly chuckle at the sensationalistic tabloid coverage of the murders. Some things are just universal through time and space.

As I was reading about Saburo's extensive crime novel collection, I was thinking about my own collection and how my husband and I always joke about the police not hesitating to arrest me if he turned up murdered.
