So this is a place where we can put a quote that we like, remember to add a new one next week as well as put who the quote is by or where it is from. Here's the first quote of the week for me - what do you think?

I love this quote because its fun, and because its well said.It is a quote about things turning out better than you hoped.( you kinda have to see the scene to get it.)

Just read this in The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle, #1) by Maggie Stiefvater , which by the way is super fab!

OMG I love the Raven Boys I have read the second one too! I just need to read the third and fourth and I am fine. Love Blue and Gansey ;)

I'm listening to it as I type. I'm addicted to this book. The writing is unique. Paints a new kind of picture. So glad to hear you enjoyed book two. I can't wait.

The book has been sitting on my shelf since Christmas and it's on the top of my TBR pile, so excited to read it!

I totally agree with Sarah. It is different and will make you reevaluate things you thought you knew - I also love Blue's aunts. They're hilarious! ;)

A well known quote but its so smart. Works in life as well in litterature. Dont copy others writing or ideas, yes inspiration is good but when stories lack orginality its never good.

I actually just remembered I have this quote written on my desk. It's under my laptop so I forget it's there. Love Oscar Wilde.

Great quote, speaks to how important relatability in stories are. Even in fantasy books, "everybody" loves to relate to books. To think " huh,I agree with that character"..

I love this quote and it's so true. The other day I was talking to someone and she said she was a huge Doctor Who friend. I instantly knew we were going to be friends.

People will forgive a lot(some at least) but if the reader finishes the book with a smile on his\her face and a desire to read more by that author than its a job well done.

People will forgive a lot(some at least)..."


That's an excellent point. I hadn't thought of that quote in regards to how authors make me feel, but you're so right.

Love the quotes Sarah and Oda, and I feel really guilty because I have been rather absent on goodreads. Well aside from my reading I have been writinglike crazy on wattpad and then my grandad died recently. So these are my excuses for not being on, sorree.

Hayley, I'm so sorry for your loss. I wish you and your family the best. No apologies. I completely understand. Life happens and the point that you're still finding time to write is impressive. I love goodreads but it does take away from time for other things. Anyway, welcome back. I'm not always good about being on here either. I respond to questions and comments in the publishing area, but I've also been in a writing frenzy. I just finished my 5th full length novel of the year. It's such fun, really. :)

As writing should be - fun. And no worries about our loss, life happens, it chucks obstacles in the way and laughs as you try to overcome them. As soon as you do it hisses as we've beaten it, life is hard, complex and not easy. But its brilliant for writing about.

And its great to back. I've been making friends on wattpad which has been fun, and my writing helps me through my life. I can express myelf, and emotions through words. So it helps and there is always time for writing. xxx

Wow! So impressed with your perspective, and at such a young age. Simply gave me chills to see how you view life. And you're right this is all good for fodder. People ask me where I get my ideas and I tell them two things: Life is boring and life is chaotic and the combination creates stories. :)

Writing is definitely my therapy. I used to meditate and now I just write. Sometimes I meditate to figure out a story, but writing is my stress reliever. I saw a quote the other day and it was so true. It was something like, "Don't anger the writer or she'll put you in a book and kill you off."

Haha love the quote - I may use that in a story at some point. And thanks for the praise, it means a lot for me, when other people praise me. And sorry for giving you the chills Sarah. ;-)

I have never meditated, since reading, writing and music have been my release. But meditation does sound fun, not that I am gonna try it any time soon. XD

Your answer to people is sooo right, life is boring but at the same time chaos, so for us writers it holds so much to explore. xxx

Not sure if we've posted this one yet. Anyway, someone asked me recently why I write. The first answer is that I have to. I'm driven to write. Like it's my oxygen. Here's the second reason:

Yes Sarah! I totally agree - if you can't find a book you want to read - then write one yourself. Ugh do you know how annoyed I am at myself! Wattpad, school and homework have taken up so much of my time; its irritating.

'Never say never,' is my own quote from a character in one of my books. Her name is Lois, its true though. Never say never as when you do, you just may end up breaking that promise. XD

So true. It's almost a curse to say "Never". Good quote and love that you used your own quote. We should all do that authors. Supply up quotes from your books. I want to read them. :)

Yes we should, I think it would be fun to see what quotes what other authors/writers come up with. Of course the book doesn't have to be published like yours, it could be published on a site like wattpad - or not published at all.

'I was a coward, to scared to admit to myself that I'm different. And in the end I failed - but you won't. You will live a life that you deserve, not a shadow of the one you could have had.' -Kylie from Love Hurts. Basically she's a lesbian but she wasn't ready for everyone to know, and so when they do, she starts to fall. She begins to lose herself thus she ends her life.

But she does leave something behind, footage of herself talking, talking about why she did what she did. The story is meant to show people who are different, like her or in other ways, that its ok to be you; its ok to be scared because everyone is scared.

That's my quote done, since I haven' t been on much, thought I'd do another one. xxx
