Let the reading begin . . .

I'm really enjoying this one! I love when Mr Goby is visiting Poiret to tell him what he's discovered and 'he's whispering to the items of furniture' in the room, looking every where but at Poiret! A nice bit of humour in the midst of a murder case.

Enjoyed this a lot!! The mystery was very well done. Loved who the murderer turned out to be.

Not much traffic on this one.

The part with Mr Goby really stands out for me as well. I really enjoyed this one. I did not see the end coming!

I read this last year and don't remember all the details, but I agree that it's a good one.

This was published in 1953 - very timely that polio made an appearance.

Lol! There's always one or two characters in an Agatha Christie novel that you're hoping will get the axe. Sometimes they do!

What a great mystery!

Christie was pretty masterful with her diversions in this book. All of the complexity and creativity made it impossible for me to guess the murderer. As usual, Christie developed well-rounded characters with humorous attributes and it was a challenge to keep track of them. So many moochers!

At the same time, I appreciated Christie's ability to represent early 50's English society, including the polio that C mentioned above as well as WWII impacts, economic hardships, and vestiges of class rigidity. She has an ability to transport me right into her stories.
