Play Book Tag discussion

I surprised myself and enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I would say that the only problem with it, is that it is unfinished. The book appears to have a sequel, that it looks like is nowhere near to publish date, may not even be written, and the first one doesn't end really - isn't quite a standalone. i find that annoying. If you can't end a book after 400 pages, you probably could have had a tighter story.

The book is about a Latina family who also has a connection to Egypt and the industry of fortune hunting and trading. Our young and feisty heroine, whose parents leave her with her aunt for the spoils of Eygpt and antiquity and fortune hunting, then presumed dead, she manages to get by herself in 1844 to Egypt to get answers, armed with magical jewelry and trinkets that were sent to her by her father. She lands, unwelcome, with her uncle, and a whole host of characters, one being a young romantic interest, who is both infuriated and charmed with her. No questions are answered by the end, and our heroine is a little older, but no wiser, and still plucky.
