Our reading for June is Gathering Moss: A Natural and Cultural History of Mosses by Robin Wall Kimmerer. If you know this author, it is probably from her book Braiding Sweetgrass, which has become a favorite of many readers.

In this book of essays, she draws on her love for and scholarly research on mosses to bring attention to these simple yet important humble forest floor dwelling plants.

I love finding moss covered logs, rocks and tree roots on my woods walks and look forward to learning more about how they live, their role in healthy forest ecosystems, and the ways humans have come to use and interact with them.

How about you?
