The Josephine B series is very good, but it's very late 1700s.

Hi MorganYou might like my novel Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God, set in Puritan New England in the 1760s. Available on Amazon. Just beware the title is the same as a sermon preached by Jonathon Edwards at the time.
Cheers Judie Mitchell
The Blue by Nancy BilyeauWolf Winter by Cecilia Ekbäck
Sugar Money by Jane Harris
And in non-fiction:
Passionate Minds by David Bodanis
Longitude: by Dava Sobel
If you’re interested in a British story about smuggling told from a boy’s perspective, you might try Coldharbour Gentlemen by Ann Lee. It takes place in the last year of the eighteenth century, 1800.Georgette Heyer wrote several novels set in the eighteenth century; two that spring to mind are The Masqueraders and These Old Shades.
There’s also Ross Poldark and the rest of Winston Graham’s series.
I really loved The Figaro Murders
by Laura LebowIt's a mystery ( we can also call it cozy mystery ) set in 1786 Vienna. The sleuth is the librettist of Mozart ! They are working at the Marriage of figaro opera and in the meanwhile , Lorenzo Da Ponte ( the italian librettist ) finds himself involved in a weird murder.
Here is my review if you are interested in knowing something more ( no spoiler ) : https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
There is a sequel, I loved too, but the first book is better :
Sent to the Devil ( my review here : https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... )
By the same author I saved on my WTR shelf 2 mystery set in 18th century Paris, but I have not read them yet :
#book 1 The Song Peddler of the Pont Neuf
#book 2
A Most Perfect Tranquility_____
Also in my WTR shelf there's a mystery set in late 18th century London :
Daughters of Night
by Laura Shepherd-Robinson______
Another mystery I read last April was one set in 18th century Venice,
Venice|18720229] by Jim Williamsbut this one is a little weird ( and not cozy ! )... you can understand better by reading my review : https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
________________
If you like a romance, I've saved this one ( also set in 18th century Venice ) in my wish-list :
The Venetian Mask
by Rosalind Laker
A Place of Greater Safety by Hilary Mantel. Highly regarded author but not one of her favorite books. French Revolution. The Year of the French by Thomas Flanagan. Long, rambling novel set in 1798, when a small force of French soldiers landed in Ireland to support Irish rebels against the British.
The Whiskey Rebels by David Liss. I rated 4 stars. Link to my spoiler free review:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I recently read 2 excellent books set in the 18th century:To Rescue a Witch by Lisa A. Traugott
A True Account: Hannah Masury’s Sojourn Amongst the Pyrates, Written by Herself by Katherine Howe
I seem to be reading a lot of 18th century books recently. I really enjoyed:- If the Tide Turns by Rachel Rueckert
- The Painter's Daughters by Emily Howes
- The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty (this one is more of a Fantasy)
I'm new to this group, so if I am posting in the wrong place, please let me know. But if you are looking for a novel set in the 18th century, you might consider Whipponock Creek: The Life and Times of Will Traylor. Set in Colonial Virginia, it is an immersive tale of life, love, and friendship, based on real people who lived and died during a tumultuous time in the creation of our nation. It is based on the historical records of my 4th Great-Grandfather, who served as a scout at Valley Forge.
