CLOSING CEREMONIES: Silver

23) Author who hasn’t released a book in the past four years

Traditionally, the summer Olympics happen every four years. For this prompt, we’re looking for an author who hasn’t released a book in the past four years.

For those completing this challenge in summer 2024, choose an author who hasn’t published a book since 2020 or earlier. You can read any book in that author’s body of work. The author may or may not be currently working on another book. You may also choose an author who is deceased or who stopped writing decades ago.

Here is the link for our Goodreads List, feel free to add your suggestions to it!

Renee Hoile | 90 comments I read from an old book published for the Detective Book Club by Walter J. Black, Inc. It is a 3n1: Murder in Waiting by Mignon G. Eberhart, The Night Hunters by John Miles, and Inspector Ghote Thrusts the Heart by H. R. F. Keating. All authors have passed away over 4 years ago.

Aquaria | 295 comments I'll read Clutch of Constables by Ngaio Marsh, because people long dead don't release new books very often.

Anna (annafrommontana) | 429 comments I read Wide Sargasso Sea.
Since the author died in the 70s I think it is fair to say that she hasn't published in the last 4 years.

Barbara (soulflame1) | 160 comments Currently reading for this prompt: Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer

Lucilla | 144 comments I read The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell. Her latest book was published in 2019. The Sparrow was amazing and absolutely destroyed me. I gave it 5 stars but I'm going to have to take some time to recover before I attempt the sequel.

message 10: by Shonna (new)

Shonna Froebel | 255 comments I read The Paris Lawyer by Sylvie Granotier, a French author and actor.
