I had a hard time with this one! I forced myself to get through it but it was tough especially after the two previous books. Hopefully, the next book is better.

This month will be an interesting zoom call!
This month will be an interesting zoom call!
Okay, I just received notification from the library that I have this book available to download. I did not read the first in series, so am I going to be lost? Sounds like it might not matter! LOL
I am the worst though, I feel compelled to finish a book even if I do not like it. Kind of like there is going to be some glimmer of hope that something spectacular is going to happen! It never usually does and then I cuss at myself for wasting time! ....crossing fingers :)
I just reserved it from the library (I’m behind this month) but after hearing some of the comments… I may abort mission and skip to next month’s book. We leave Thursday to take our new rig down to the Keys and this does not sound like a vacation read. 🙈
I am so glad I am hearing that all of you are having an "ish" experience with this book. I am listening to it and having a hard time deciphering. But that's why I love book clubs. Gets us out of our comfort zones.
This book was not available to me, so I am getting next months.Wish I could get it on Libby but its too long of a wait, so I have it on hold at the Library. Glad I'm not traveling right now.
I finished the audio version yesterday. I enjoyed it, but I did have difficulty keeping up with who was who.
I am about a quarter of the way through the book, reading, audio was not available. The book is not horrible and there is humor. Saying this ALL self imposed...I feel like I have to read the book slow so I do not miss a clue!!! Watch, I won't even know who the heck it is in the end! LOL
Like I mentioned earlier in the thread, I feel like I have to finish the book whether I like it or not. I wish I had more time to read! This is just a different type of book and a new author than I am used to reading, which I believe is a good thing to mix it up a bit.
Regarding the future month's books, it was helpful since I am new to the group, that the books were listed in advance. Maybe an additional month in advance, would help those who want or need to reserve from a library due to wait times.
.....back to reading! :)
I just finished it. I thought it was kind of fun. Am I the only one that liked it? I like how it pokes fun of who-dun-it books and the writing profession. I may go read his first book.
Christina wrote: "Sadly, this book was a DNF for me."Same for me. I downloaded the free kindle sample and had zero interest in spending $13 to read the rest. Maybe I should have stuck with it but we were packing for our summer RV trip to Maine and time was limited. But I still plan to be on the call so I can hear what others thought in case I ever want to give it another go :)
I don’t mean to sound like a complete crazy person, but I think I am missing how to get to the times for our book club discussions?? I do not see anything on my thread of Goodreads app. And I never see what the next book is going to be. I sent Stacy a message a while back and she told me where to find the book picks but undoubtedly my crazy self doesn’t know how to work this!! LOL HELP
I purchased the book The Heiress which is the July pick but I haven’t started it yet because I have started another book and need to finish it first lol. Anxious to start it though I am hoping It will be more suited for me than the last.
Hi, all. I was having trouble getting The Heiress at my local library…but discovered it was included with Kindle unlimited if anyone is having the same trouble borrowing the book. :) Happy reading!
This book took a while to get going with the story. The beginning was a tough read for me. Once the 1st murder occurred, then the pace of the book picked up and it was an easier read. Overall, l enjoyed it.

Hey Brenda! You are not missing anything. Our book club discussions with the TIS community happen right here. We do have a book club zoom meeting for each book for crew members. If you'd like to learn more about that, head on over to the website.

On the Heiress… finished today. Mostly enjoyed the book… looking forward to the book club discussions. When does that take place on here? Is there a special time?
Juts finished The Heiress as I started it in audible. Despite the cursing ( I can never figure out why) it kept me captivated. I figured some things out before the end, but SHHHH I'll be quiet.
Started my copy and must admit almost put it down to the amount and specific curse words. Personally just don't care for that language. Will try a few more pages but I may have to just put it down and wait for the next book.
I think easier to hear ( listening to audio book) cuss words than see them in print. Agree is not necessary, but in the story with Ruby's southern drawl and the time period, the cuss words are kind of her liberation in some way. I do get what you are saying here, though.
