Andrea | 24 comments Ok, when do we "meet", and how fast should we read??

Thanks, I've never read with other people, cool.

Cora E. Hileman | 1 comments ^ Same here, Do we just read at our own pace? or is there some sort of guidelines? Thanks ☺️

s ♡ (paperbackproblems) | 0 comments ^^ from what i gather, we’re supposed to just post comments about a book during the time the group is meant to read it. i’m not sure how hiding spoilers or the like happens, since goodreads has a terrible interface. there’s not really much structure to bookclubs on here, i can’t even figure out how to tag someone or reply to their comment if that’s even possible.

Sarah Fernandez | 1 comments I feel the same as everyone else. I guess it’s just supposed to be one long thread

Briana Reilly | 2 comments As a newer reader (since last summer Acotar got me going again) I found it very lucky that since joining this group I was already reading the chosen book/ Throne of the Fallen. I tend to be behind on so many romantacy books but this may be the only time I’m ready for one of these group reads on here! I am doing this singular book before I finally dive into TOG for my first time. I didn’t just immediately do the SJM wormhole I like to “save” things a little. I went straight into FBAA after acotar. And have read some other authors series as well. But the risk of spoilers and me missing SJM writing, I am very ready to have that be all I read for months again lol! It’s the right time of year ( I started ACOTAR in June of last year)

I will say for TOF I found it really picks up around page 90-100ish, and especially so now that I am in Part 2 and on chapter 16. Anyone else at a similar point? I was also trying to read many different books at same time and hadn’t found my stride with this one yet. I am absolutely IN it now.

hi andrea! there's no set "pace" for you to read at! you can post your thoughts here as you read, or share your full review at the end— whatever works better for you!

hi! yes, unfortunately, goodreads doesn't really have much in the way of protection from spoilers with the exception of reviews posted to a user's profile. that being said, we encourage you to share what part of the book you're at before giving your thoughts in the discussion threads so that others have the opportunity to come back if they aren't to that point in the story yet! for example: "just finished chapter so and so and..." or "on page # and..." :)

as far as how to reply directly to another user, you can only do that on the desktop version of goodreads and not the app, unfortunately. you don't have to have a laptop though; you can just use safari on your phone!

Briana Reilly | 2 comments I have made it to chapter 33/ page 249 and am really loving this book. Wondering if my reading pace is picking up or if I’m way behind everyone. I’m used to being behind with my schedule and trying to do too much lol.

Rachael | 6 comments I finished about a week ago. I really liked it but couldn’t stop comparing it to Caraval (which I didn’t really like). The princes of sin reminded me of the fates and game/scavenger hunt plot felt similar. It was much spicier than I had thought it would be but I liked it surprisingly.

oh this is interesting! i haven't heard anyone make this comparison yet! did you read the kingdom of the wicked trilogy?

Rachael | 6 comments I have not read Kingdom of the Wicked. I’m assuming that would have given more depth to the characters and world.

i haven't either, but i'm thinking i need to go back to those and read them before reading the next standalone the author is doing in this universe!

Abbey | 2 comments Hey guys, I was reading about the whole spoilers issue. I’m in another group & they said if you put. < spoilers > but without the spaces it will block out the spoilers so you have to click them to view them. Unfortunately, you can only view them in a browser & not in the app. Sounding to me like the Goodreads app needs a little update bc I don’t have time to be going to my browser all the time 😂 but just to test the spoilers thing:

Did it work?

Abbey | 2 comments Update: I believe you have to put the < spoilers > AFTER what you type bc the word I put before disappeared but the question didn’t? Idk.

Did it work now?

Amanda | 51 comments 3.75⭐️ A fun read! It brought me right back to how much I enjoyed her KOTW series. Keri’s writing style is very captivating and especially well-paced given the length of this novel. If you haven’t read Kingdom of the Wicked trilogy, I’d definitely recommend reading it first. The three books mostly revolve around Prince Wrath, but Envy does make a cameo or two!

I loved Envy and Camilla’s banter and the spice was both well written and just the right amount.

What took away from my rating here were a couple things.

One thing that was very distracting were all the ‘extra’ details not necessary to this particular story added in. It almost was too much trying to bring in details from her other series to this book, as well as adding more to presumably set up for the next installment. It bogged down this plot, and I think that perhaps a prologue or intro could have help avoid the confusion?

Another thing was Camilla’s backstory felt a bit muddled. The end explanation of her ‘secret’ didn’t quite satisfy me as much as it should have once all of the pieces were revealed. If it was a touch simpler, I think it would have had a bigger payoff.

The concept of these books hits such a good sweet spot, and I’m excited for the other ‘Sins’ to have their moment!

I totally agree with the Caravel comment felt very similar vibe!

Miranda Casteel (mirandacasteel) | 4 comments I have this book to read next. Is this were I need to be, or is there a different place? I see "june/july" in the topic heading.
