I don't remember the first book at all; just that I wasn't particularly impressed by it. However, this one I thoroughly enjoyed! Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention to the audiobook for the first book and as I read this one in print (albeit digitally), I was much more engaged and actually found some funny bits. The funniest being the comparison of Bogdan to Mr Darcy 🤔🤭

Told in multiple perspectives, we get glimpses of each of their individual lives and thoughts and also how their relationships work. I found this to be very holistic; all the sweetness and sadness mixed in together. How they all just get together and do LIFE. Of course, there are murders mixed in in all this. And Elizabeth, as ruthless as she is, gets down and dirty. But, of course, not on her own; her crew could be just as ruthless even if truly they may not look like it.

Despite the murders, this was quite a light and refreshing read. An overall contented rounded feelings at the end.
