Mbuye Any particular period in mind? Ancient (Greek, Roman) European, British, American, Egyptian?

Any particular writer you'd like?

Listopia has some good suggestions on GR

I'm pretty open to all time periods! Just looking for good books in general. I'll check out Listopia!

Beth Elliott (goodreadscombethelliottcom) | 1 comments I've just bought another copy of Wilkie Collins' "The Woman in White". I love that story but have lost or lent my old copy. Now I want to study Count Fosco, with his underlying aura of menace, for inspiration to help me create the sinister villain in my new story.

Melody | 1 comments I finished The Women by Kristin Hannah and I loved it. I also just finished The Reformatory which is h.f., but isn't marketed that way. Also fantastic!

Ion | 2 comments For the Ancient Egypt perioad, a great read I would recommend is The Egyptian, by Mika Waltari
