Hi! I had a partial cover reveal that was added to this site, but it has been updated on Amazon to the real cover for a while and has not been updated here. I tried to update it myself, but it will not allow me to delete the cover photo. Can someone please update that for me to the cover on Aamazon? Thank you!

Yes, ARCs have been. I wasn't aware of policies where we can't change the cover after there are ratings. I didn't even give permission for this cover to go up and would not have if I had known I couldn't change it.

Oh, if you mean has the partial cover gone on the ARCs, then no, I didn't put a cover on them at all.

Presumably you put it on Amazon which means it can be transferred here. Martin mentioned the ratings because it implies that readers have received the book with that cover. As you have confirmed they have not, I will delete the placeholder and you can upload the real cover.

Thank you. But in the future, are you saying that I can't put a new cover up if anyone receives any sort of copy of the book with the teaser cover? Can you give a reason for that? Also, how can I put a placeholder cover up on Amazon if I can't change it here? I'm just confused about this policy and I don't want this issue to arise again.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post a comment, but my book, The Time Captive has a new cover (it was just a place holder before). The book has no ratings yet because it will not be released until June 27. Can you please delete the current cover shown on Goodreads and replace it with the cover from Amazon. The reason is that Goodreads (rightly) wants readers to be able to log the exact edition they read. If a placeholder imports here we can remove it as we did with this one. But why not just upload the real cover?

Partial cover reveals and full cover reveals are big events for Indie Authors. It's a way to cause a buzz about our books. The reason we upload the partial cover is because that's one step in the process for us and it's a big deal. Our preorders may start months ahead of time, but our cover reveals make sense way closer to the release date. Still, we want to have *something* up, and a cover reveal is all we have. I think GoodReads should have a way to accommodate that.

But more than that, this rule just seems so frivolous. An author can upload a changed version of their book 100 times on Amazon with the same cover and call it the same edition and GoodReads would never be the wiser, but we can't change the cover because GoodReads feels that is too much of a change? Maybe I'll never get it. But I hope you guys can understand the benefit for us indie authors in having our cover reveals. And I guess this is just an appeal to understand where we are coming from when we ask for some leniency here.
