I am really interested in doing a challenge like this, but I have questions. LOL What is your strategy for finding books in your to-read list that are set in a particular state? I'm still learning the nuances of using Goodreads. :-) Or is it that you look outside your to-read list??
I usually have a list of to read books and I find out where the story is located and have that as one of my markers. Then since I read a variety of books - I add what genre - and because I belong to this group I place a USA tag to let me know that its for this group...I also add Christian or inspirational as a marker to know its a book thats appropriate for this group. Hope this helps you! Also if its a Christian Fiction Dev. author i also notate that as well because of the monthly read so sometimes that will work for both challenges.
Thanks, Chris. So these "markers" are tags? For books appropriate for this group you would have 3 tags: USA, Christian or inspirational, AND Christian Fiction Dev? Just asking for clarification.

Appalachian Song USA - Tennessee - Inspirational Fiction - and CFD (short for Christian Fiction Dev.) and then the month that Tennessee would be read.

Andrea - question - I noticed that Alaska is missing from both parts and we have Arkansas twice (March and December) - did you intend to have all 50 across the two parts?
Sandy wrote: "I am really interested in doing a challenge like this, but I have questions. LOL What is your strategy for finding books in your to-read list that are set in a particular state? Click on that, and then click on the word "list." That will take you to a huge group of lists. In the search box, type "Christian fiction set in" and then the state. It will pop up a list for that state which you can open and find all sorts of books set in that state by Christian authors. That is my go to spot for finding books for a particular state if I don't have one on my TBR list. Hope this helps!

Great catch! Thank you, Karen. I swapped out Arkansas for Alaska in December. I'll make an announcement here and in the Announcements thread.
Great catch! Thank you, Karen. I swapped out Arkansas for Alaska in December. I'll make an announcement here and in the Announcements thread.
NOTICE: December's states had a goof-up. We featured Arkansas in the first part of the year. I have swapped out that state for the missing state of Alaska. Please adjust your lists. Thank you.
I'm going to give this a try. I may lag behind a bit because I already am reading two other books that don't fit, but hopefully I will catch up.
