Nominate any book pertaining to India. It could be Indian author, or a book set in India.
We will put up the polls once we have a few nominations.

HERE ARE THE RULES --->
★ No promotions of any kind!
★ Please suggest a worthy title for the group to read as a whole.
★ Each member can nominate one book, and can endorse/second any one of the running nominations.
★ Moderators have the final say in selecting a book for the poll.
★ Please avoid books already read by the group - Books already read by the group

Waiting for your nominations!

But we already read that book, during COVID time I think. In fact, it was I who nominated the book! :-)

Oops...sorry being new didn't know that...Then I think one of the new upcoming authors there are many. But, being an upcoming author myself....I don't think it would be fair of me to suggest their names as some of them are good friends and it wouldn't be fair to suggest just one person's name.

Savita Singh | 1887 comments I second The abyss because the blurb looks interesting and rather unusual . I tried to attach the book link but it opens to a different book .

Gorab, no one is voting. I think you need to send the poll link in a newsletter to evoke better response.

Did that already after creating the polls. Haven't received the message to self, so not sure if it is just getting delayed or failed? I will trigger another one tomorrow if no message is received by then.

I second The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese

message 24: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 4078 comments Looks like either The Abyss or The Covenant of Water is going to win. I went through the reviews of The Abyss. It looks like an interesting book as well. A win win situation for me whichever book wins.

message 25: by Savita (new)

Savita Singh | 1887 comments Dear Moderators , may I know when nominations for the November- December BOTM will be put up ? The last two BOTM selected were tomes , which I am very wary of . Anyway, even those members who had voted for them didn't participate in the discussion with the exception of Austin . Hope the next polls yield better results ... non tomes 🤔 .

message 26: by Austin (new)

Austin George | 4078 comments Savita, I would have tackled the whole book had others joined. I read about 50-60 sample pages online and wanted to buy the book. But seeing the lack of interest from others, I decided not to buy. Moreover, I got busy with my departure to the US for my Master's. I decided to let go of the book. Personally, I prefer a small to medium sized book for BOTM. Unless it's a tome I am very interested in reading - The Brothers Karamazov, Lavransdatter, Gora etc.

message 27: by Mansi (new)

Mansi | 389 comments I suggest the mods ,that only small - medium books should be allowed to be nominated .

message 28: by Savita (new)

Savita Singh | 1887 comments @ Austin Yes , no one else showed any interest in those tomes .
Congratulations for getting a Master's seat in the US . It'll be a great experience ! Best wishes !

message 29: by Savita (new)

Savita Singh | 1887 comments @ Mansi I fully second your suggestion , Mansi . I have 3 books I would like to nominate - Wind in the Willows , The keys of the Kingdom and 5 children and it. I don't think any are tomes, but I still have to check the exact page counts. But not sure if the BOTM is continuing or not .
