Ⓐlleskelle - That ranting lady ッ (alleskelle) SYNOPSIS :

Beards, brothers, and bikers! Oh my!
Identical twins Beau and Duane Winston might share the same devastatingly handsome face, but where Beau is outgoing and sociable, Duane is broody and reserved. This is why Jessica James, recent college graduate and perpetual level headed good girl, has been in naïve and unhealthy infatuation with Beau Winston for most of her life. His friendly smiles make her tongue-tied and weak-kneed, and she’s never been able to move beyond her childhood crush. Whereas Duane and Jessica have always been adversaries. She can’t stand him, and she’s pretty sure he can’t stand the sight of her…
But after a case of mistaken identity, Jessica finds herself in a massive confusion kerfuffle. Jessica James has spent her whole life paralyzed by the fantasy of Beau and her assumptions of Duane’s disdain; therefore she’s unprepared for the reality that is Duane’s insatiable interest, as well as his hot hands and hot mouth and hotter looks. Not helping Jessica’s muddled mind and good girl sensibilities, Duane seems to have gotten himself in trouble with the local biker gang, the Iron Order.
Certainly, Beau’s magic spell is broken. Yet when Jessica finds herself drawn to the man who was always her advisory, now more dangerous than ever, how much of her level-head heart is she willing to risk?”

BrookeNoWhiskey | 12 comments I've been promised fun and shenanigans. I'm super pumped. Love those Winston boys!

BrookeNoWhiskey | 12 comments I'm curious as to the dual POV we'll see with this book. Will that be recurring throughout the series? What made Penny decide on that format? Just curious. I love getting in the head of both characters, so I'm really excited about it. And I loved the little glimpses of the boys at the end of each Knitting in the City book (and Also Quinn's POV in 1.5).

Hey Brooke!
Sorry it took me so long to respond.
Yes. The dual POV will be used throughout this series; each of the brothers will have several chapters told from their POV. As well, I'm hoping to have a male narrator for the audiobooks... :-)

Yay Penny!Chapters told by a Winston brother? Can't wait!!
The audiobooks of KiTC are awesome, really, and Beauty and The Mustache rocks!

Oh, you know how to make a reader feel all good and tingly. *basks in glow of (hopefully) future audio books*

Isamlq | 7 comments The title alone has me excited. :)

Diana Rising (dianaruthr) Pre-order available on amazon.com. Woohoo!

Aaly | 38 comments Already pre-ordered It!

Diana Rising (dianaruthr) I was hoping for July 1, not July 23, but beggars can't be choosers. Maybe Penny will get the book out a week early again.

I hope so. I have serious Penny withdrawal signs:

Withdrawal. a symptom where one would experience major depression when he or she stops using a drug (eg. crack cocaine) after being dependent on it

I join you on that one, Maddevi!July is too far away!
if you don't know yet, we're going to have a "re-reiding" of Beauty and the Mustache before the release.

Ahaa perhaps that will hold me until the release! Just thinking about the Nietzsche jokes and the 'tool shed- hussy' moment makes me smile again.

Great idea!

Wendy'sThoughts | 1 comments Just sharing...Truth or Beard is everything you loved about the Winston's in Beauty and the Mustache plus all the Reid smarts and romance. Funny sweet love interest who is willing to just bluntly share what she is feeling. Refreshing to read that.
The idea of re reading Beauty is a great one because it sets everything up perfectly. Enjoy!

I am so jealous you got to read it early! Only 8 days to go..

Diana Rising (dianaruthr) Soon--we can hold out about a week more.

Rebecca | 5 comments It released in Aus and I have to admit to speed reading it. I'm in love with the Winston Brothers and couldn't help but see hints for the coming books in some scenes. Particularly regarding Billy. Duane almost replaced Alex as my favourite male character.

Diana Rising (dianaruthr) I'm in Chapter 4. So good. I double checked, and I pre-ordered it on May 15th. That's a long wait, but it's worth it.

Em__Jay I enjoyed it a lot. I admit I was a bit worried because Beauty & the Mustache is not my favourite KITC book. The Winston Brothers did nothing for me in that book but now I am now eagerly waiting for the next one. :-)

Diana Rising (dianaruthr) It was so good. I love Duane and Jessica.

Amy | 14 comments I've been anxiously waiting for the book to be out and I got it on the 21st but I've been holding out. I know I'll devour it once I start so I haven't started it.

Huh. I promise this method of delayed gratification sounded much more reasonable in my head.

P.S: Is it just me or have you guys noticed that Reiders never really say things like "I hope I like the next Penny Reid book"? There's never any speculation on my part. I know that I'll love her book. It's just a matter of how soon will I get it.

What a nice thing to say/type!! Thank you!

Alisa | 20 comments Any knitters out there? I haven't had much time to knit this summer, so just picked up the Knitscene Handmade 2016 issue. I have to know which Winston boy is the model in this magazine?! He's on about 10 pages. Check it out. It will be gone soon; the label says "display until August 29, 2016".

namericanwordcat | 6 comments I did a reread of this book this week and it was better the second time for me.

Bhavani Rao | 4 comments I relisten to all her books all the time on my drives to meetings! I always arrive happy because one of the winston boys has said or did something just too awesome or silly as I am getting out of the car!

Jekca Holland | 7 comments I have read all the Winston books so far, but I have a question about this book one that bugs me! I’m not sure if it’s a spoiler though, and I’m new to the good reads community..... are there rules for what questions I can ask or a way to mark it spoiler alert?!

Em__Jay Jekca wrote: "I have read all the Winston books so far, but I have a question about this book one that bugs me! I’m not sure if it’s a spoiler though, and I’m new to the good reads community..... are there rules..."

I say go for it. The book is several years old. 🙂

Jekca Holland | 7 comments Thank you! I know it’s been out a while, but I stumbled upon the series a few months ago.
In the story they talk about Duane wrecking his road runner, but they never elaborate. Then in the following stories the characters mention he did it on purpose?! Was that just implied from the start, or did I miss something somewhere?

I haven't read this book in ages so some of the nuances may be lost to me right now. :-)

I felt the crash was about Duane finally ceding control, letting go. I don't think it was about ruining the car or trying to hurt himself though.

He was always so controlling and rarely made a step without planning in advance. His family knew this about him so the crash was, in a way, the rock bottom that Duane had to reach before rising.

Welcome to the goodreads fam.... I can send you some tips how to make spoler tag or gifs in your questions or reviews, if you would like?

Jekca Holland | 7 comments I don’t believe it was that, the longer the series goes, the more they mention he wrecked. He did it on purpose. And so on.....

Kari (booksfortheliving) Jekca wrote: "I don’t believe it was that, the longer the series goes, the more they mention he wrecked. He did it on purpose. And so on....."

I don't remember him doing it on purpose. I read through that part in Truth or Beard again when he tells Jessica, and it just seems like he wasn't himself when he was racing that day. That he thought he'd lost (or was losing) Jessica and wasn't careful or diligent enough to keep from wrecking. Like he didn't care what happened to the Road Runner at that point because he was too upset that Jessica was leaving Green Valley and him.

Jekca Holland | 7 comments Agreed! It’s later on in the series. Each book the brothers mention him wrecking the car, but imply it was on purpose. Then his twin flat out says he wrecked it on purpose..... I’m trying to figure out that part f the story line. Maybe it will be mentioned again in Dr Strange Beard.....

Betty Brookover | 2 comments I absolutely love this book. My next favorite in the series is Beard Science.
