This is the cover on the version I have of langoliers. Is this enough of the plane? It is just the wing

Approved, I think it's quite clearly a plane wing, and the wording does say "some portion of the wing". Just chuck a link back here for the benefit of the reviewing mod.

For Book #1: do Zeppelins count? Here's the cover:
This cover's zeppelin looks like it has fixed wings above the ship

I'm afraid not, zeppelins aren't considered to be fixed-wing aircraft. They have fins rather than wings.

In Hit the Silk!, players are members of a group of plane hijackers whose heist has gone badly wrong. The plane is losing altitude, there aren't enough parachutes for everyone, and you need to make sure you bail out with enough money to pay off the mob who are waiting on your return to terra firma.
Choose an option.
Required: State the option
Option 1: two-book task.
Book 1: Read a book with a aeroplane on the cover. For the purposes of this task, an aeroplane is defined as a fixed-wing aircraft such as a glider, biplane, or jet. We are not looking for helicopters, microlights or paper planes. Some portion of the wing, nosecone or tail must be visible.
Examples:
Required: post the cover.
Book 2: Read a book by an author whose first and last initials can be found in HIT THE SILK. Letters may be used only as often as they appear.
Option 2: one-book task.
Read a book which satisfies both criteria for option 1.
