YA books: Hot or Not discussion

Me, along with many other people are OBSESSED with the Shatter Me series, so it gave me elated joy (along with a few tears) to learn that Shatter Me is coming back with a new spin off series, Shatter Me: The New Republic, all starting with Watch Me. It is set ten years in the future, and a new enemies to lovers trope has come with James (JAMES!!!!) and someone new??? I know what I’m going to be buying on April 15, are you??

What are your guys’s thoughts on the new book? Do you think that Tahereh can hit the spot again with a new addition to the series? Can we feel the same sparks that we felt with Juliette/Ella and Warner between James and Rosabelle?

I can't wait to see the world building be thrown out the window.

Serious though, I'm really hoping we get more info about the Kents' mother. Also, that there's going to be some kind of conflict about James being the son of ✨Anderson the dictator✨. (I was really surprised when I saw that James goes by Anderson and not Kent in the blurb! You'd think Adam would have gotten them both registered as Kent by now.)

Or maybe he's conflicted that his mother (that was so nice) managed to love/be loved by Anderson. If anything he would want to find out more about her since everyone (*cough Adam cough*) refuses to talk about her.

Or just as a convenient tool while James is on Ark island. Dare I hope there's going to be a bio-lock somewhere on an important door where it recognizes that James is Anderson's kin?!

Concerning the romance I hope Mafi let's it build naturally across the book. I don't need another "You are the only Good thing left in this world", "I've been obsessed with you for months", or "Wow you're so gorg, let me fall in insta-love with you" storyline like James' brothers (and Kenji) lol
