Okay so I knew that the book I read after Somewhere Beyond the Sea would be tough, book hangover and all that so I decided to read this one, I didn't have high expectations and wanted something easy and quick. Through ch 17 and man (view spoiler)[this book is full horndog! They are like hey if there is no actual penis penetration then we are good to go! I an pretty sure he actually said something along those lines at one point! I was not expecting this lol This is just messy and I just got done a part where he was "teaching" her how to fight back against magical influence by ordering her to strip and then stab him through the heart! It was definitely ick for me.....I have 3 more hours so will make every effort to finish today but I am glad I borrowed this through Libby and didn't buy these lol (hide spoiler)]

I’ve been debating continuing since I didn’t love the first one. I usually don’t open spoilers unless I’ve read past that part but I opened yours and yeah… I’m going to skip this one 😂

Yeah so I finished and sorry, Nirkatze, I think I am tapping out of the third book. This was just BAD and then I checked the third book to see how many pages it is before I posted here and this was one of the reviews:

Wrath and Emilia could have just signed up for PornHub and people will cheer.

If this was named 'Kingdom of the Horny', I would have probably understand and give another star for living up to its title but uh.... no 🫶🏻

I think romantasy is just not for me, I am sitting here trying to think of one I enjoyed and I swear there was one but for the life of me I cannot remember.....

I have to agree... I can't think of a Romantasy that I've really enjoyed...

Was thinking some more on that... would the The Mask of Mirrors count as Romantasy? I enjoyed that series...

Okay, so I started, and while the arrogant stupidity and cringe-worthy bodice-ripping has been turned up to eleven, I'm able to find enjoyment in some scattered descriptions--there was something a minute ago comparing the weather to a child throwing a tantrum that I liked.

There might be a permanent scowl on my lips though, lol.

OMG infinity! I finished today, and while I didn't *hate* it--I swear I fastforwarded through most of the book... I did find the ideas interesting, but the execution was way too smutty for my taste. The twists were predictable but sort of predictably satisfying? (view spoiler)[Like hah of course Wrath is the Prince of Lies--but that's apparently Sammael and not Lucifer? Or completely different pantheon while still holding to Catholic views of sin? And of course the twin is alive--and is potentially the primary villain. I would have preferred the book to lean into those instead of the MC "exploring herself" through all the sins with an extra side of lust--and OMG you were not kidding about all the ways to have sex without fully having sex. I feel like I need to scrub my ears out. (hide spoiler)] Still, I'm curious about the conclusion, and I hate leaving things undone, so I'll probably finish up the series (thank goodness it is only three).
