I nominate Amelia Earhart for being a pioneering aviator who set numerous records and became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.She and her plane mysteriously disappeared somewhere over the Atlantic on July 2, 1937.
Despite numerous and extensive searches, whatever happened to her and her plane is still a mystery to this day.
Amelia Earhart is the winner!!
