I nominate the Carrington Event. This was a powerful solar storm that occurred September 1-2, 1859. It is considered the most intense geomagnetic storm ever recorded — causing auroras to be seen around the world and disruption of early telegraph systems.
I’d like to nominate 9/11. So many American men and women gave their lives to save others. And many more were killed in the tragedy. Many of us here on the group weren’t alive for that, I wasn’t. But we need to remember and recognize it as best we can.
