I didn't even bother adding to my TBR but then I spotted it at a street library and I thought, why not - also note, the hype has sailed a long time ago.

I found Dexter (or is it the Jeff Lindsay) to be quite quirky and I found myself surprisingly enjoying the writing if not the resolution of the crime. I think that trope has been overused but keeping in mind this was published 20 years ago. The novel is written fully in Dexter's perspectives so readers have full access to his thoughts and fears and dreams. Who knows if this is how they [real serial killers] actually think with all the compartmentalisation etc but his quirkiness truly intrigued me. And that final choice he made, bravo!

Definitely keen to read at least the next book in the series and maybe explore the tv series option...

Rachel N. | 2264 comments I liked the first two books then for me the third book went totally off the rails. I found the first four seasons of the tv show to be really good, the last two not so great.

Tien (tiensblurb) | 1641 comments There are actually 8 seasons.

I have been told the same about the series too. I'm enjoying the first few eps of season 1 though
