Balloon boy

Ya I think it was a plea for attention

♥Jenny♥ Melzz wrote: "And it turns out that might of been a hoax in the first place."

Blart. That story got WAY too much media. I didn't even care in the first place.

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

People thought the boy would fall and plummet to his death in the beginning.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

The thing was filled with helium he would have died within the 2 hours they were searching.

♥Jenny♥ Melzz wrote: "People thought the boy would fall and plummet to his death in the beginning."

Oh. Well who told the media that there might be a boy in there?

message 8: by ♥Jenny♥ (new)

♥Jenny♥ Ambizzle wrote: "The thing was filled with helium he would have died within the 2 hours they were searching."

Dang.

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

They weren't searching, an hour or so in, they found it. Following it to see if there was anything they could do. Because their massive helicopters couldn't get too close to a balloon.

Even if he would have died (had this been real) they would have kept following in hopes of recovering a body anyway.

Blec. The whole thing was still stupid (to me).

His parents

Ya they spent 2 million dollars they didn't have on trying to get that ballon back.
They wanted their own reality show or something

His parents

Mind my language, but, dumasses. Wth. If the whole thing was real, I would classify them as bad parents.

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

I heard he was hiding in a box in the attic the whole time...

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Ya he was up in the rafters in a box or something.
Then the kid said but Daddy you said it was for show

message 16: by ♥Jenny♥ (new)

♥Jenny♥ Melzz wrote: "I heard he was hiding in a box in the attic the whole time..."

Yup. *shakes head* Bad parents. I would've turned my house upside-down looking for my child.

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

they are terrible parents I would look through the whole house and neighborhood before I chased the balloon

message 18: by ♥Jenny♥ (new)

♥Jenny♥ Ambizzle wrote: "they are terrible parents I would look through the whole house and neighborhood before I chased the balloon"

Exactly, exactly. Bad parents. You know who else I would classify as bad parents (no offense to them), but Kim Kardashian's mother and step-father.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

If the kid is healthy, emotionally and physically, I wouldn't say they were bad parents. But if they push him to the cameras, that won't help him be emotionally healthy, thus being deemed bad.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

Ya them too

♥Jenny♥ Melzz wrote: "If the kid is healthy, emotionally and physically, I wouldn't say they were bad parents. But if they push him to the cameras, that won't help him be emotionally healthy, thus being deemed bad."

Exactly. I think that they only did all of this for publicity. Think of the kids morons. Gosh, I hate it when parents...suck at being parents. You guys should really read this book Impulse. It has a bunch of bad parents in it. Like, if I'm not fit to be a mother, and I get preggers, then the least that I can do for my child is give him/her to somebody better suited to be a mother. Dang, I'm getting slightly off topic, but I feel strongly about this.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

me too because none of these kids asked for it

message 23: by ♥Jenny♥ (new)

♥Jenny♥ Ambizzle wrote: "me too because none of these kids asked for it"

Exactly. What do you think about octo-mom?

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

I hate her she is raising 14 kids she got knocked up with on purpose on welfare and food stamps that is ridiculous someone needs to take those kids away from her and find them a home where they'll grow up with good parents

Thank you, thank you! At least someone has some common sense around here. Wtf, I feel bad for those kids. If I were older, I would take some off of her hand because they don't deserve that. Stupid octo-mom. And her husband left her, and her children were raised in front of a camera (reality t.v.)which will definitely have some impact on them.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

I have a few friends with really unstable and bad parents. They are some of the strongest, most level-headed people I know. The thing about it is, that even with their parents, they found a way to rise through the ashes. Even though it was sad, they wouldn't be who they are without the hardship of their parents. The beautiful and ugly rhythm of life, eh?

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

I know but why would you do that to your own kids knowing that you couldn't provide them with things other people could

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

People are selfish.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

That is so selfish

Mmm hmmm, some people can handle stuff like that, some people can't. In that book that I was reading, Impulse, this one character's mom was horrible and his childhood was messed up but he...he just took it so well (well, he tried to commit suicide but otherwise he took it really well) and it just shows how strong he is and, it doesn't matter how you were raised or what life throws at you, it just matters how you handle it.

btw, that character that I was telling you about , he's my future husband. I'm in love with that character, really, I am.

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

Some people aren't that strong though

message 32: by ♥Jenny♥ (new)

♥Jenny♥ Ambizzle wrote: "Some people aren't that strong though"

I know right. And sometimes, you shouldn't chance things like that. people still need to raise raise their children the right way.

message 33: by [deleted user] (new)

If your going to bring a kid into this world you need to do your very best to make sure they have everything you could give them

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

I agree. Just saying that there's some hope for the badly parented.

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

There is but I wish everyone could have good parents

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes :/

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

I know the world make me sad sometime

message 39: by ♥Jenny♥ (new)

♥Jenny♥ Ambizzle wrote: "http://www.people.com/people/article/..."

Blac. I I don't want to hear anymore about ballon boy.

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

What do you propose we talk about?

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh my gosh! They were on "Wife-Swap" too! Couldn't let go of their fifteen minutes.

message 42: by ♥Jenny♥ (new)

♥Jenny♥ Melzz wrote: "Oh my gosh! They were on "Wife-Swap" too! Couldn't let go of their fifteen minutes."

message 43: by [deleted user] (new)

Hmm you guys never told me what to do about my leg
That's not a news story though

message 44: by ♥Jenny♥ (new)

♥Jenny♥ Melzz wrote: "What do you propose we talk about?"

I don't know. Did you read Identical yet?

message 45: by [deleted user] (new)

Not yet.

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

Nope
Wait is it appropriate for me to read?

message 47: by ♥Jenny♥ (new)

♥Jenny♥ Melzz wrote: "Not yet."

Darn. Well, I'm starting to like Ellen Hopkins. I might even give Crank another try, in a couple of years. But yeah, Laurie Halse Anderson is still my number one author. I love her soooo much, she's my idol.

Um, elevate it? I don't know, I'm not a doctor and I've never...what happened with your leg again? I'm too lazy to look through the messages.

message 49: by ♥Jenny♥ (new)

♥Jenny♥ Random: You know what the worst show is on tv right now, Yo Gabba Gabba. Tool Academy is horrible too.

Wait, what? Is it appropriate for you to read? How old are you? (you don't have to answer that, I know I wouldn't) You know what rape is and what sex is, right? So yeah, you can read it.
