Oh, well done, Charlotte – you've certainly included all the timeslip children's fiction I could remember reading, plus a couple that I'd forgotten included time travel (such as the Hilda Lewis and the Winterson). I wondered about the last couple of titles in Susan Cooper's The Dark is Rising series, but I suppose it's difficult to judge when a plausible past parts company with a fantasy past.

Charlotte - is Two Gold Dolphins the original title of Vanishing Magic? I haven't the chance to check for correspondence between them (moving house!), but saw it as I was packing and thought of your list. :)

The Time Garden by Edward Eager is a good humorous time travel story

I haven't read Vanishing Magic, but it doesn't sound the same. Two Gold Dolphins is set in a country house, and the magic is a clock.....
